Today we will visit Nosy Mangabe. A short boat excursion away, Nosy Mangabe is a small island completely covered in dense humid forests. The island is home to the imperceptible and nocturnal Aye-Aye. These extremely rare lemurs were introduced by humans during the 60 ́s in order to create a reserve to protect them from extinction. Black-and-white ruffed Lemurs and White-fronted Brown Lemurs also thrive here. This is a paradise for herpetologists and entomologists. The best place to see Leaf-tailed (Uraplatus) Geckos, Pygmy Stump-tailed Chameleon, Panther Chameleon, several species of day geckos and plated lizards.
