Day 1: Norfolk Island

Meet Wayne Hamilton at Sydney Airport and check in for your flight to Norfolk Island.

Upon arrival you will clear customs and transfer to Governor's Lodge Resort Hotel, check in for 7 nights. 

Tonight, Pinetree Tours will meet you at your hotel. Get ready for a great night of fun with Norfolk’s longest running theme night, Night as a Convict. Uniforms for this evening will be delivered to your rooms during the day so you can prepare for an epic night of laughter, games and convict mayhem. After tonight you will know why this is the most popular feature dinner on the Island.

Day 2: Norfolk Island

Cooked breakfast will be provided this morning in the hotel restaurant, followed by a half day Island Tour. This tour is a must for all visitors and will introduce you to Norfolk’s beautiful scenery, rich history, and heritage and the way of life that is enjoyed today. Your Guide will keep you informed and entertained as you journey around Norfolk taking in some of the impressive sights it has to offer. Visit historic Kingston and see the most popular beach on Norfolk, Emily Bay, plus the famous convict buildings. Marvel at the Melanesian Chapel with its beautiful stained glass windows, enjoy the views from Cascade and Anson Bay and finish the tour with refreshments at an old historic home. This beautiful home was built by Fletcher Quintal, a descendent of the “Bounty” mutineers, Fletcher Christian and Matthew Quintal. (Duration 3.5 hours)

Tonight, enjoy Dinner at Castaway Hotel.

Later you will be taken through the decades of Norfolk Island’s convict era. When night falls, Kingston brings on a different mood to the Convict Settlement. The stillness and the stars are there just as they were before mankind arrived in 1788. However, with the dramatic use of real life sounds, theatrical lighting & costumed actors, the stillness is broken.

Day 3: Norfolk Island

Enjoy a cooked breakfast this morning. You will then be collected from your hotel and begin the Convict Settlement Tour, an in depth tour of the historic Georgian settlement of Kingston. You will walk through the cemetery and hear the history of interesting convict & colonial headstones and hear stories of the houses along Quality Row. Walk through the ruins of the New Gaol, see then Pier Store, Boat Shed & the Crank Mill. You will finish this tour with an appetizing afternoon tea. (Duration: 3.5 hours) 
This evening enjoy a 2 course dinner at your hotel.

Day 4: Norfolk Island

Cooked breakfast will be provided this morning in the hotel restaurant, you will then take off on a pioneering adventure “Off the beaten track”.

This 4WD tour takes you through Norfolk’s National Park, travel through a private paddock past an old convict well on your way to visit the Watermill Dam. Stop off at a Norfolk Island Pine family home for stunning views at the edge of a cliff. Observe first hand the many different species of the Island’s sea birds including several Mutton Bird nests as well as viewing a stump of a hollow Norfolk Island pine complete with the knots still on it. Travel along the cliff edge and look down onto a lush valley full of seabirds nesting in the pines. Make your way out to Simon’s Water Reserve where you will meander your way through trees and past cattle to the cliff edge where you will see the sights of Cascade Bay and across to Elephant Rock and the blow hole. Morning tea is included along the way at an Island Home.

Later wander over to visit the Cyclorama. This is an amazing 360° panoramic painting. A unique way to experience the history of the Bounty adventures and discover how the world’s most famous mutiny created the Pitcairn and Norfolk communities. 

This evening you will enjoy a Progressive Dinner hosted in Island homes, a feast not to be forgotten! Enjoy a 3 course meal progressing to different Norfolk Island family homes. A fun night and a great way of meeting the local people and sampling some of the Island dishes.

Day 5: Norfolk Island

A cooked breakfast will be provided this morning in the hotel restaurant then at 9.30am you will enjoy Mootineer’s Cheese tour, a small cheesery producing 7 varieties of cheese from fresh local milk. The tour includes a tour of a local sawmill taking in timber production, island honey farming and sea salt production. Then sit at a beautiful island home overlooking the ocean partaking of the local cheese, honey, salt and wine, accompanied by island humour and live music. A fun entertaining informative tour.
4.45pm Tonight you will be met at your hotel by Pinetree Tours and transferred to the Island Fish Fry. Enjoy a feast of Island dishes, salads, homemade bread & fresh fried fish, followed by Island desserts & tea or coffee. Watch the sun set from Pinetrees Tours exclusive property 'Orn Daa Cliff' on Norfolk’s beautiful western coastline & enjoy some local entertainment.

Day 6: Norfolk Island

This morning you will be having breakfast with a view. It will start with a walk that will take you through diverse habitats from rain forest to clifftops, between enormous pines and white-woods and surrounded by seabirds. While the topography is hilly, the pace is relaxed and our guides cater to a range of fitness levels. Your efforts will be richly rewarded by a delicious barbeque breakfast with all the trimmings, which awaits. Learn about our flora and fauna and see some of our 40 endemic species of plants and birds. For those that just want to join us for breakfast come along! We will relax and meet up with the others for breakfast.
This afternoon, you will venture down to Emily Bay to do the Christian’s Glass Bottom boat tour. It will take you on a cruise within the lagoon of Emily and Slaughter Bay. Norfolk Island has the Southernmost coral reef in the world, and you will view thirty different species of coral and one hundred and twenty different species of colourful fish as you cruise the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon. Your colourful host is a direct descendant of Fletcher Christian.
Tonight enjoy a 2 course dinner at your hotel followed by Wonderland By Night, the setting is 10 acres of magical Norfolk pines & bushland lit up like an enchanted forest.  Meander along (or ride in the ‘moon buggy’) a gentle winding path with a Bounty Descendant, as they recite poems and light up the dioramas.

Day 7: Norfolk Island

Enjoy a cooked breakfast this morning in the hotel restaurant, followed by some time at leisure.

At 1.00pm Taste of Norfolk will take you to a beekeeper’s home where you will view flow hives, learn about the fascinating local honeybees, and view their incredible flight path to their hives. Next stop will be the local butchers where you can find out all the answers about our local meat industry and see first hand the art of sausage making. Last visit will be a cooking demonstration and you will see a traditional yorlor stone which came from Pitcairn Island on the Morayshire in 1856. Try your hand on the stone to create green banana fritters flavoured with local honey. 
6.00pm Farewell dinner will be served in your hotel restaurant.

Day 8: End of Itinerary

Cooked Breakfast will be provided this morning in the hotel restaurant, there will be time to relax and pack your bags before your 1pm transfer back to the airport.
