Day notes
After an early breakfast, transfer to Wilson Airport for a scheduled flight to Loisaba (depending on the time of year the flight can take between 45min or longer - as the some flights may go via the Mara first). On arrival at Nanyuki, you will be met by your safari team and transfer by road to the camp on the edge of the forest ,where you will be greeted by Laikipia Masai and Samburu staff.
The camp will be set up in a grassy glade looking towards a huge rock outcrop. After lunch and a siesta you will go on an evening stroll, exploring the area, birdwatching and looking for Warthogs and the shy Bushbuck. The plains below the hills are home to the Samburu people as they graze their livestock on the edges of the forest. An evening visit to a manyatta is easily arranged.
Lolkejeta Mobile Camp will be the base of all your activities for the coming 3 nights, so you can get comfortable.

Day notes
After breakfast you will take a walk up into the forest for some birdwatching, looking out for the Hartlaub’s Turaco, Crowned Hornbill and possibly even a Crowned Eagle. The forest is full of ancient, old-growth Podocarpus, Cedar and Strangler Figs trees, where the Samburu trackers will teach you about the medicinal uses of these plants and trees.
The forest is home to Buffalo, Bushbuck, Waterbuck and Elephant, which you might see if you are lucky. You will enjoy a picnic on an stunning ancient rock outcrop used for millennium as a lookout before taking a different route back to camp.
Back at camp you will find piping hot showers that are heated in safari buckets around the fire. After a relaxing afternoon you can take an evening stroll and regroup at the camp fire to enjoy a drink and the sounds from the deep forest amphitheater above you
Day notes
After breakfast, you will walk to the Bawa area of the forest. The hike climbs under a canopy of umbrella shaped Croton trees. Bawa is defined by a beautiful little stream that cuts through the valley. You will follow game trails traversing north and eventually leading to lunch laid out beneath a majestic fig tree. The birds in this area are stunning and diverse. From Bawa you will catch a lift in the vehicle back to Lolkejeta for an afternoon rest. In the evening you will head back out in the car to an adjacent rocky pinnacle called Naibor Keju. Sundowners on Naibor Keju are beautiful as the sun glints through large boulders that crown the top of the hillside, after sundowners you will head back to camp for a hot shower, more drinks and dinner.
Day notes
You may want to walk up early on this day for another small hike to see early morning activity in the bush & take advantage of more birdwatching before breakfast.
Depart for the airport for your outbound scheduled flight back to Nairobi, where you will continue your journey.
