8 DAY VICTORIA FALLS CHOBE NATIONAL PARK AND OKAVANGO DELTA

ARRIVAL, ZAMBEZI RIVER SUNSET BOAT CRUISE

Upon arrival, you will be met by DK Tours and Safaris representative and transferred to your hotel. You will then be picked up at 16:00 for the sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi River. This is a two-hour boat cruise that includes return transfers snacks, soft drinks, wines, beers, and spirits.

GUIDED TOUR OF THE VICTORIA FALLS + OPTIONAL TOURS

Your guide will meet you at 0800hrs for the Guided Tour of the Victoria Falls. This is a two-hour trip that will take you to the falls via the big Baobab tree and ends at the open curio market after the falls tour.
You will have the rest of the day free for optional tours and; you will be picked up for the Boma dinner at 19:00. Here there will be lots of traditional entertainment (drumming shows and dances) and; the dinner is served buffet style.

FULL DAY SAFARI IN THE CHOBE NATIONAL PARK

On this day you will be collected from your hotel at 0730 hours for the full day safari in the Chobe National park in Botswana. You do not have to wait until we cross the border into Botswana to start enjoying the game viewing as we will be driving through the Zambezi National Park for 70 km to the Botswana border.

The safari starts with a Boat Cruise on the Chobe River. This will be three hours of game viewing from the boat. You will have a buffet lunch at the four-star Chobe Safari Lodge and after lunch, it will be time to take to the bush in custom made 4x4 safari vehicles for the three-hour afternoon game drive. You will visit the upper Chobe that is not accessible by boats. This is where we get to see the shy predators (lions, hyena, leopards, etc) and at times on their kills.
You will leave the park at around 17:00 for your hotel near the Chobe National Park.

SAFARIS IN THE CHOBE NATIONAL PARK

Early morning game drives in the Chobe National Park with tea and coffee in the bush. Departs at 06:00 and you will be back at the lodge at around 09:30 in time for your full breakfast at the hotel. Early morning drives are great for big cats’ sightings.
At around 15:00 you will be picked up for the afternoon cruise on the Chobe River. Enjoy big game sighting as they come down to the river for the last drink of the day. You will also get to witness the amazing Chobe river sunset.

TRANSFER TO MAUN (OKAVANGO DELTA) VIA NATA

You will be picked-up at 07:30 for the transfer to Nata (on your way to the Okavango Delta) where you will spend one night before proceeding to the Okavango Delta the next day. Nata is the gateway to Makgadikgadi pans and we highly recommend taking advantage of this stop-over to visit this impressive natural wonder. You will do an afternoon drive to the pan.
Along the way, to Nata Lodge you will closely encounter elephants at a stopover at Elephant Sands at the lodge`s water hole (the only source of drinkable water in the area). The Elephant Sands Bush Lodge (in Nata) is only 250 km from Chobe National Park and is within the Elephant Sands game reserve.

You will also get to enjoy wildlife viewing from the lodge`s natural waterhole a few meters from the main building.

MAKGADIKGADI TO OKAVANGO DELTA

You will be transferred from Nata Lodge to Maun - the launch-pad for the Okavango Delta activities. This day we recommend an afternoon forty-five-minute scenic flight over the Okavango Delta (optional) – just to get the bird`s eye view of this unique wetland system of rivers, crystal clear channels, islands, and lagoons that creates a safe haven for flora and fauna.

FULL DAY OKAVANGO DELTA SAFARI

Soon after breakfast you venture out on a day trip into the delta. This is a full day experience where you will explore the Okavango by Mokoro (a traditional dug-out canoe), by boat or wilderness walks on nearby islands. Navigate the labyrinth of lily-filled lagoons and streams, where hippos fight for bathing rights and crocodiles wait for antelope to linger too long over a drink. Commonly spotted animals include: lion, rhino, leopard, giraffe, hippos, elephants, crocodiles and countless species of birds. You will be back at the hotel at around 18:00 for dinner and a well-deserved rest

TRANSFER TO MAUN AIRPORT

Sadly the last day of the tour, time to share contacts and take the last minute selfies! You may have some time for shopping in Maun before you get transferred to Maun Airport. Transfers to the airport will depend on your flight schedule and you are recommended to be at the airport at least two hours before your flight time.
