Mary Anne Eastern 8 Days - Itinerary A

Upon arrival to the airport in Baltra, you will be transferred to Mary Anne Yacht at the bay. After lunch, the yacht will take you to Black Turtle Cove, a large mangrove lagoon on the north coast of Santa Cruz Island, where you will see local fauna like pelican and herons, and you may also spot turtle or golden rays from the beach. End of the day and dinner onboard.

Early in the morning, the yacht will take you to Darwin Bay, where you will encounter the native species of this place such as red footed boobies, and great frigate birds trying to attract females. You will also stumble upon Darwin’s Finches and native flora like mangroves and cactuses. After lunch, head to Genovesa Island, specifically to Prince Philips Steps also called El Barranco, the ascend to this place, takes you to see a panoramic view of all the Island from here. You will also spot masked boobies and red footed boobies. After this activty end of the day and dinner onboard.

After breakfast, the yacht will take you to Bartolome Island, famous for its Pinnacle rock and its beautiful landscapes where you can take amazing pictures. You can also se Galapagos penguins at this island. After lunch, you will head to Chinese Hat, this island gets its name from being shaped like a Chinese hat. Lava formations can be seen on the western side of the island, formed under the sea and later raised upward, you will spot sea lions colonies and land iguanas resting here.

Early start landing at Rabida Island, a red sand beach, with a salt water lagoon where flamingos are usually present, along with Darwin’s finches, and Galapagos Mockingbirds. After this activity head to Dragon Hill at Santa Cruz Island, where you can walk through a trail that leads to a hyper-saline lagoon, that is frequently visited by flamingos, pintail ducks and other species of birds. End of the day and dinner onboard.

Early in the morning you will visit the Highlands of Santa Cruz, where you will see Galapagos Giant Tortoises in its natural habitat at a private reserve. After lunch, you will head to Charles Darwin Research Station where you will learn about the protection and conservation of the island, and visit the Breeding and Rearing Centre for young tortoises and adult Galapagos tortoises in captivity. After this activity, you will have the opportunity for souvenir shopping at Puerto Ayora.

First activity of the day will be landing on Santa Fe Island, which is a great place to snorkel and swim along sea lions. This place is also the home of endemic species like the Galapagos Hawk, Galapagos snake and a variety of finches. In the afternoon, after lunch, you will head to South Plaza Island where you will see various species of land iguanas, marine iguanas and hybrids of this species. After this activity, dinner will be served onboard.

Early in the morning head to head to Suarez Point on Española Island, that is a basaltic cliff which forms a blowhole where water sprays high into the air. A hike to the top makes a great opportunity to take spectacular pictures. You can also watch sea lions, sea birds, Marine Iguanas, masked and blue footed boobies, among others. In the afternoon, the yacht will take you to Gardner Bay, to watch sea lions and marine iguanas, and then head to Gardner Islet or Osborn Islet which will be a great opportunity for snorkeling and swim.

First activity of the day will be landing at Santa Cruz Island to take a transfer to Twin Craters, an amazing landscape at the Highlands of this island. After this activity you will be transferred to Baltra Airport and take your flight back to the continent.
