Day 1: Okavango Panhandle

Upon arrival at Shakawe Airport you will be transferred to the Delta Belle Houseboat. Once onboard, briefing will take place while the houseboat start its journey downstream.

A light Lunch will be served with superb views from the upper deck. The houseboat’s Captain will drop anchor around 4pm.

You will embark onto a tender boat to discover what nature has on offer near the houseboat. Sundowners will be enjoyed whilst watching a perfect African sunset drifting afloat on the Okavango River.

That evening a three-course dinner is enjoyed on the upper deck of the Delta Belle Houseboat, surrounded by the nocturnal sounds of the African night.

Day 2: Okavango Panhandle

Today you can sleep late and enjoy the magnificent sunrise over the Okavango Delta from the houseboat. This morning’s activities will be water based on a tender boat.

The Okavango Delta is any a photographer’s paradise and you will have the opportunity to see Hippo, Nile Crocodiles, Water Monitors, Bushbuck, Elephant and the rare Sitatunga Antelope. With over 400 species of birds in the area, bird watching is sure to be a rewarding experience too. Keep your eyes open for the Delta’s famous African Skimmers, African Jacanas, Carmine Bee-eaters, our national bird the Lilac-Breasted Rollers, Pygmy Geese and the elusive Pel’s Fishing Owl. You might opt to make use of this opportunity to try your hand at fishing, luring in a Tiger or Bream.

By midday you will return to the Delta Belle. In the afternoon you can stay behind, lazing around and soaking up the sun or again take part in the activities on the tender boat. On your return sundowners will be enjoyed on the tender boat.

A three-course dinner will be served on the upper deck of the Delta Belle Houseboat, under magical African skies with the Milky Way keeping an eye over you.


Day 3: Okavango Panhandle

Today we will lift anchors and slowly start making our way back upstream. After a leisurely Brunch a tender boat outing awaits on the Okavango River.

Today’s activity will be water - and land based. We will travel upstream, fishing, birding and go onshore to visit the local crocodile farm, Krokovango at Samochima Village. With about 13,000 Nile Crocodiles, it sure is an experience not to be missed.

A guided walk awaits you where after snacks and beverages will be provided at Krokovango’s picnic site. From here we will depart back to the houseboat.

Back onboard it’s time to relax and enjoy the peaceful pace aboard the houseboat. Sundowners will be enjoyed onboard the Delta Belle Houseboat.

Tonight, will be your last chance to enjoy a feast of flavours at dinner, while the Delta’s nightlife serenades you with another evening song.

Day 4: End of Itinerary

The Delta Belle Houseboat pulls up anchor and meanders back to its mooring place at Shakawe. Breakfast will be served en-route. Arriving at approximately 09h30-10h00.

You will be transferred back to Shakawe Airport for your onward connection.
