Day 1: Nairobi

 

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta  International airport and proceed thru immigration and customs formalities to meet your driver for a transfer to your overnight hotel. 

A stay at Hemingways is the ultimate way to ease into East Africa. On the serene outskirts of Nairobi, this five-star all-suite retreat is well out of the city bustle, but remains perfectly placed as a springboard for your safari adventure. In Kenya, your safari starts on arrival. Where else but Nairobi will you find zebra and rhino roaming beneath city skyscrapers? But this is just the beginning. From the capital we’ll whisk you to some of the world’s greatest wildlife-viewing locations.

Days 2 - 3: Amboseli National Park

Your flight departs this morning from Wilson Airport Nairobi, gateway to the flying safaris in Kenya.

Time to board the Elewana Executive Grand Caravan and fly you south to Amboseli National Park, where you can watch huge herds of elephant and a vast cast of creatures roam in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro.

 After a scenic 45 minutes flight, you will land in the middle of the park, where the team from Tortilis Camp will warmly welcome you. Enjoy your first game drive en-route to the camp and arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive.

Your stay at Tortilis Camp is for 2 nights in an en-suite Safari Tent, with 1 Family Cottage (4 Pax and 1 private House (5 Pax).  The stay is on all-inclusive basis (includes all meals, bush activities and drinks – excluding premium drinks). A children's menu is available.

In additional to safari game drives, special activities for the kiddies including bush walks around camp, warrior and bush training, visits to a local school and Masai Jewellery making.  

  

Days 4 - 6: Loisaba Conservancy

Leave on your SkySafari aircraft this morning for Liakipia's ground-breaking Loisaba Conservancy, where community-focused conservation helps preserve landscapes as dramatic as they are biodiverse – everything from big cats to wild dog might be spotted here. 

Loisaba is made for adventure: guests enjoy complete freedom to choose how they spend their time so the only barrier is your own imagination. Trek through the bush with camels, mountain bike down the escarpment, horseback-ride or drive through the wild canyons of the two great rivers that span the vast property..

Unique to Loisaba, the Star Beds are a truly memorable African experience. Handcrafted four-poster beds with wheels, are rolled out onto raised wooden platforms so that guests sleep under the endless African night sky. The open-to-air bathrooms are designed around the rocky features of the kopje with a plumbed shower offering piping hot solar-heated water, a basin and flush loo, as well as beautiful views over the valley below. One ensuite Family Room, with two double beds pushed out onto separate platforms. The room features a sitting area, wardrobe and safe, with a bathroom set slightly apart adjoined by a short undercover walkway. All rooms can fit an extra single bed that can’t be rolled out.

Days 7 - 8: Masai Mara

AFter a morning activity board your SkySafari flight to the  heart of the Masai Mara: nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant than on these endless, acacia-dotted plains, especially when two million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle arrive, on their epic migration.

Located on the banks of a river from which it has taken its name, Sand River Masai Mara is located within the Masai Mara National Reserve, close to the Tanzanian border.

Sand River Masai Mara is an ideal destination, at any time of the year, for those wishing to enjoy exceptional game-viewing. The National Reserve is best known for its large concentrations of big cats, such as leopard, cheetah and, of course, lion. Even the dramatic arrival of the Annual Migration merely adds to an already abundant resident wildlife that awaits discovery.

Sand River Masai Mara comprises of 16-tented accommodations - including 1 family tent - each divided into two separate but adjoining campsites, with each area possessing its own designated dining and public areas, thereby creating an increased sense of exclusivity and privacy.

Day 9: End of Itinerary

Today after lunch, you will transfer back to Nairobi.  Other plans can be made to go to East Africa’s soft white beaches and historic coastal towns, include another safari destination, or depart for home.
