Day 1: Santa Cruz Island

In search of the giant tortoise: The naturalist guide meets you at the airport once you arrive. You will be transferred to Santa Cruz Island where Safari Camp is located, once you are settled, you will have lunch, and then you can explore SafariĀ“s Camp 135 acre farm. In the late afternoon, you will visit the National Tortoise Reserve near the hotel, to spot giant tortoises roaming freely and also to visit the lava tunnels.

Day 2: Santa Cruz Island

Activity day: After breakfast, you will visit a neighboring organic coffee plantation, to learn about the responsible farming in the Galapagos. Then you will be transferred to Cerro mesa crater for a short walk, which is also a perfect place to view a variety of birds. After lunch you will take a bike ride downhill to Garrapatero beach, where the contrast of mangroves, black lava, white sand, and turquoise water, along with its birdlife and flamingo lagoon, is magnificent. Kayaking is optional.

Day 3: Santa Cruz Island

Explore an uninhabited island This day you will have the option to visit one of the neighboring uninhabited islands (based on availability): North Seymour, Bartolome, Plazas, Santa Fe, Floreana or Isabela. Each one of them is an endemic treasure to explore and enjoy. You will be able to snorkel off the boat to spot the magnificent aquatic species while doing this activity.

Day 4: Santa Cruz Island

Fishing adventure: An excursion with local fishermen is the highlight of this day. This initiative works with the National Park Service, and aims to engage local fisherman in tourism activities as an alternative means of income, with the benefit of protecting local fisheries from depletion. With your guide acting as a translator, the fishermen share anecdotes and teach local fishing tricks. After this activity you will land on a deserted beach and may snorkel in a spot known only to locals.

Day 5: Santa Cruz Island

Charles Darwin Station and bay Tour: This day, you will head to Charles Darwin Station to learn about the preservation efforts of Galapagos Species and scientific research done in the last decades. After lunch, you will take a speedboat to Tortuga Bay, a white sandy beach with basking marine iguanas, and shallow turquoise waters teeming whit white- tip reef sharks. Or you can join a snorkeling boat that will take you to swim near sea lions.

Day 6: End of Itinerary

Departure: Sunrise walk to explore Galapagos Safari Camp. After this activity you will be transferred to the airport to take your flight back to the continent.
