On Marañon River, you will spend some time searching for birds and playful monkeys. As your naturalist guide spots various creatures for you, the landscape adorned by the usual colors of the sun´s reflections is a great photo opportunity as you witness your first Amazon Rainforest Sunset.
At night, the biodiversity of the jungle totally changes. You will search for alligators, bats, and more nocturnal creatures that are as interesting and unique as daytime.

Discover the enchanting Iquitos Caño, where vibrant biodiversity and lush landscapes meet. Embark on a skiff adventure through hidden waterways at dawn, offering a magical birdwatching experience as the first light illuminates the sky.
Experience the only Canopy Walkway in the region, suspended 25 meters high and stretching 500 meters, offering unbeatable views of the Amazon's wildlife and vegetation. No special skills needed, just a unique walk among 14 of the tallest rainforest trees.
You will have the opportunity to get to know Carola. She is a spiritual caretaker and healer to hundreds of jungle dwellers spread over many roadless.
You will start cruising through the Yanayacu and Pucate Rivers, peeking into different creeks and lagoons. This is one of the best preserved and protected zones of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. If you want to interact directly with the waters of the Amazon, go out on one of our kayaks.
You will even have the opportunity to fish the famous piranhas! After dinner, you will enjoy a night walk trail.

You'll encounter squirrel and silverback tamarillo monkeys, birds, dolphins, and even sloths! As you skim the riverbanks, you'll spot small caimans, spiders, and insects of all colors, shapes, and sizes.
Later you'll venture deep into the non-flooded rainforest as your guide reveals the incredible creatures and plants of the Amazon. Keep your eyes peeled for surprises at every step—Anacondas, Rainbow Boas, Tarantulas, Poison Frogs, and even porcupines are often spotted. This is one of the rare places in the Pacaya Samiria Reserve where you might catch a glimpse of the elusive 2-toed sloth.
You'll visit a local Amazonian community where villagers have lived for generations. Step into a typical schoolhouse where the children will be thrilled to greet you and explore a vibrant arts and crafts market run by the community's women.
You'll toast and witness the striking colors of the three rivers—the Ucayali and Marañón Rivers, which merge to form what many consider the main stem of the Amazon River.

On your way from Nauta back to Iquitos airport, you will visit the Rescue & Rehabilitation Center of River Mammals (Amazon Forever) where you will have the chance to meet baby manatees and learn about these wonderful and docile creatures and why they are on the endangered species list.
