Day 1: Pilanesberg National Park

  • Arrive at OR Tambo International Airport as per your own arrangements at time TBC
  • You will be met by our representative at arrival terminals and transferred to Pilanesberg National Park (2 hour drive)
  • On arrival in Pilanesberg, Check in at Bakubung Bush Lodge
  • Enjoy Lunch and later, depart on an afternoon game drive
  • Return for dinner

Day 3: Cape Town

  • Check out and you will be transferred to OR Tambo International Airport for flight to Cape Town departing at time TBC
  • On arrival in Cape Town, your personal driver/tour guide will meet you at arrivals and you will be transferred to Camps Bay 
  • Check in at Ocean View House
  • Afternoon at leisure - Enjoy lunch at local restaurants for your own account
  • Overnight

Day 4: Cape Town

  • You will be picked up at their accommodation in Cape Town at 8:00am by a qualified tour guide/driver and transfer to the ferry departure point for the Nelson Mandela Gateway – at the Clocktower Precinct in the V & A Waterfront. Your tour guide/driver will not be accompanying you on the boat or at the island as there will be a sight guide on the island who will give you a guided tour.
  • At 9:00am, board the ferry boat to set sail to Robben Island. The entire tour takes up to 3.5 hours including ferry journey times. Upon reaching the island, disembark at Murray’s Bay Harbour and take a brief walk to the bus that will transport you around the island. A former political prisoner will give you a site tour, including a viewing of Nelson Mandela’s cell.
  • After the tour, return to the Clocktower Precinct at the V&A Waterfront at approximately 12:30, where you will meet your tour guide/driver. After an optional lunch the tour guide will return to collect you from the restaurant and escort you to the awaiting vehicle.
  • Then it is time for your second half of the tour route - the Cape Town City tour. Begin in the heart of the city in Adderley street where you will view historical monuments like Bartholomew Dias, Jan van Riebeeck and Zackarias Waganaer Reservoir.
  • Thereafter see some heritage museums like the Slave Lodge and Cape Castle. View the City Hall and the Company Gardens and proceed past the House of Parliament. Stop at the Bo Kaap where you will see the famous Colourful houses in the Cape Quarter and stop to take some photos and greet the locals if they are in sight.
  • An optional stop at Afrogem will be offered to witness the production of fine African jewelry with a focus on rich gold, platinum, diamonds and tanzanite. Guests will be able to walk the working factory floor and purchase the jewelry directly.
  • Proceed to the top of Signal Hill to admire the view of the City Bowl area including the Cape Town Stadium. Thereafter, take the cable car up to the top of Table Mountain to explore this unique piece of nature.
  • Upon your return from Table Mountain Guests will be dropped off at their accommodation after the tour between 5.00 pm and 6.00 pm.

Robben Island

Day 5: Cape Town

  • You will be picked up at your accommodation at 9:00am (Flexible Time) later or earlier by your Tour guide/driver and embark on a memorable private Cape Town excursion.
  • We will travel along the Atlantic Seaboard, with the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other and pass through Bantry Bay, Clifton and Camps Bay. We will have a photo stop at Maiden's Cove. From there we proceed past the 12 Apostles mountain range and Llandudno, and have our next stop in Hout Bay. Here guests can take a boat to Seal island to view the Seals.
  • Upon our return from Seal Island we will proceed along Chapmans Peak drive, with an option of stopping at Cape Point Vineyard, known as the masters in producing the best white wines in South Africa. Ask for their flagship Sauvignon Blanc during your wine tasting and you will not be disappointed.
  • You can also have a light lunch there. From there, we proceed through Noordhoek with the option of stopping for the finest roasted coffee at The Village Roast on this route. We proceed to Boulder's Beach to see the endangered African Penguins colony in their natural habitat.
  • We then continue to the monument of Just Nuisance, the Great Dane dog who made his own history in the South African Navy in Simon's Town.
  • Our next stop will be at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point Lighthouse. Please wear comfortable shoes and always bring a jacket. Ask your expert Cape Point tour guide to guide you along the safe hiking trails, should you be a keen hiker. Lunch can be enjoyed at a restaurant of your choice. Ask your Personal Driver/guide for recommendations.
  • Once in the Cape of Good Hope Nature reserve, we explore the Dias cross and some fauna and flora and see the meeting point of the 2 currents: the cold Benguela Current and the warm Agulhas Current. You may also encounter some baboons and other wildlife. We advise our guests not to get too close to the Baboons and avoid feeding them as these are wild animals and can therefore be dangerous.
  • Our return route is passing through Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay and Muizenburg, via the Old Cape Road. You will be dropped off at your accommodation after the tour at your own convenience.
  • Overnight

Day 6: Cape Town

  • Private Whale Watching & Hermanus Wine Tours: Weather permitting, we will collect you from your hotel in Cape Town at the agreed time and proceed to Hermanus via the N2 (National Road 2).
  • Upon our arrival in Hermanus at the New Harbor, you will be briefed by an experienced qualified whale watching specialist about these ocean giants. Their lives, life spam, behavior, etc. You will then board a modern boat with toilet facilities on board.
  • You will embark on a 2 to 3 hour sea excursion, searching for the whales in the ocean. As soon as a whale is spotted, the skipper will stop the boat so that everyone can see these amazing sea creatures up closely. As the time goes by, the skipper and crew members will try to spot more whales to maximize a full whale watching experience. Many other marine life have been spotted on different Whale watching tours in Hermanus, such as the Humpback whales, killer whales, great whites sharks, dolphins, African penguins, Cape fur seals, orchards etc.
  • Once this amazing private whale watching has come to an end, your personal guide/driver will take you to the town centre of Hermanus. Here you will walk along the secure sea cliff pathways with the possibilities of watching more whales or browsing galleries and a local craft market.
  • Then we will proceed to Hemel en Aarde (Heaven on Earth), for private wine tasting. We recommend an exclusive 3-course Food & Wine pairing Lunch at Creation Wine Estate. This region is known for producing the best Pinot noir in South Africa, because of its cool unique weather conditions. After lunch we drive through the regional road known as R44, passing the beautiful smalls towns of Kleinmond, Pringle Bay and Betty’s Bay, where you will be able to see the African Penguins at Stony Point.
  • Your will be dropped off at your accommodation at the end of the tour.

Day 7: Mossel Bay

  • You will be collected at your hotel by a qualified tour guide/driver in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle.
  • We will travel along the scenic, mountainous wine route of the Franschhoek Pass, with an optional stop for Wine tasting at one wine estate.
  • Passing the picturesque Theewaterskloof Dam, we will connect with the N2 just before the town of Caledon. There will be frequent comfort stops along the way. We will stop for lunch at the beautiful Drostdy Restaurant situated on the historic Zanddrift building in Swellendam.
  • After lunch we will proceed on N2 towards Albertinia and will have a stop at the Aloe Vera factory (20 minutes) for a complimentary cup of coffee and optional shopping.
  • Our next stop will be Mossel Bay where we will smell and come into contact for the first time with the majestic Indian ocean.
  • We will explore the Mossel Bay area with the highlights as follows: The Post Office Tree, the Bartholomew Diaz Museum complex and the St. Blaize light house.
  • From there we will overnight in Mossel Bay. After check-in at accommodation and freshening up, guests will be taken for dinner as per the tour schedule.
  • Thereafter, guests will be dropped off at their hotel/guest house for a good night’s rest.

Day 8: Oudtshoorn

  • Breakfast
  • Guests will be collected at their accommodation after check-out and breakfast.
  • We will travel to Botlierskop game farm (which starts at 9:00) for a breathtaking 3-hour game drive safari in an open 4×4 truck. This is a unique occasion to fully experience the Big five animals like never before on this Garden Route Tours.
  • After the Safari we will travel inland through the Robinson Pass at 860 meters above sea level towards Oudtshoorn, famous for the Ostriches and the Cango Caves.
  • Our first stop will be at the Safari Ostrich farm. Here guests will have to opportunity to see, feed, touch, ride and kiss the Ostriches. Our next attraction will be the Cango wildlife Ranch for a top encounter with wildlife. This is the biggest and oldest cheetah contact centre in the entire world.
  • After this thrilling experience our tour continues to the famous Cango caves for a standard tour.
  • After check-in at accommodation and freshening up, guests will be taken for dinner as per the tour schedule.
  • Thereafter, guests will be dropped off at their hotel/guest house for a good night’s rest.
Cango Caves

Day 9: Knysna

  • Guests will be collected at their accommodation after check-out and breakfast.
  • We will depart for Knysna, also known as the JEWEL of the Garden Route Tours, through the spectacular Outeniqua Pass & the 4 Passes situated at 800 meters above sea level with various stops for photos.
  • We will drive through Wilderness, Sedgefield and Knysna, with majestic scenic views of the lakes and rivers and continue towards Plettenberg Bay to visit the Elephant Sanctuary (1 hour).
  • From there we will continue towards Storms River mouth and have lunch at the Cattle Baron.
  • After lunch we will embark on a guided walking tour of about 900 meters to the Hanging bridge.
  • Thereafter we will drive back to Knysna where guests will check-in at their accommodation and freshen up before dinner.
  • After dinner guests will be dropped off at their accommodation for a good night’s rest.

Day 10: End of Itinerary

  • Guests will be collected at their accommodation after check-out and breakfast.
  • We will explore the Knysna Heads, driving to the top of one of the heads and down to the beach to appreciate the beauty of mother nature.
  • Our next stop will be at Garden of Eden for a guided walking tour for approximately fifteen minutes.
  • Thereafter we will dedicate an hour to admire the largest bird sanctuary in southern hemisphere, Birds of Eden and also visit Monkey land Sanctuary.
  • Following this activity guests will have lunch in the vicinity
  • After lunch, you will be transferred to George Airport for flight to OR Tambo International Airport
