Day 1: Vientiane

Up on your arrival, meet our guide and driver who will take your to your hotel for the check in.
We take the rest of the day to explore the city tour to the most interesting site of Vientiane capital. We starting with going to Wat Simuang before going to Patuxai (Arch de Triumph), built quite recently in commemoration of those who died during the wars in the past and it is today as the land-mark of Vientiane. Then That Luang, which serves as the main and symbolic stupa in Laos. It’s also our national symbol and recognizable throughout the world, gathering place for national Buddhism ceremony. It’s also the biggest stupa in Lao.

Day 2: Vientiane

After your breakfast at the hotel it is time to board your transport for the onwards journey to Vang Vieng (transfer with driver).
Upon arrival in Vang Vieng, you will be taken to your accommodation where you will arrive at around noon leaving the afternoon.
Meet your guide and take you for lunch. After lunch you will have optional tour either with kayaking or cave discover.

Option 1: We will transfer around 10km North from the town to the ethnic Khmu village of Viengsamay where after an introduction to the basics of kayaking we shall set off down the beautiful Nam Song river. After we continue traveling downstream to Tham None (Sleeping cave). Which is one of the biggest caves in Vang Vieng and served as a rescue shelter for the villagers during the Second Indochina War. Today it is home to a family of bats and the ‘Magic Stone’ of Vang Vieng. In the rainy season we will swim through the entrance to the cave. The final leg of the journey is a gentle paddle which will return us to Vang Vieng just in time to catch the sunset.

Approximately: 15 minutes transfer, 2 hours kayaking, 45 minutes caving

Option 2: Get transfer 14 km north from the town to the amazing Tham Xang (Elephant Cave) which lies on the banks of the Nam Song River. It is an important Buddhist temple and owes its name to the remarkable limestone formations in the cave. 

Next we head to the nearby Tham Hoi cave (Snail cave) which winds its way deep into the mountains. Here we spend 45 minutes exploring the numerous long corridors and wonderful limestone formations. We will also explore the Loop Cave and its amazing stalagmite formations before continuing on to Tam Nam (Water Cave)

At Tham Nam cave a cool pool of spring water lies at the mouth. It is a brilliant place to cool off by going for a swim! We tube through the cave which is full of water. In the dry season the water is completely crystal clear!

After this we trek 2km to the Hmong village of Phathao. The journey there passes through rice paddy fields and vegetable gardens. Up on arrival there is transport to take us back to Vang Vieng.

Day 3: Vang Vieng

In the morning, we take time strolling around the Vang Vieng then begin our trip by heading north from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang ( no guide). You will be picked after breakfast and head through some beautiful twisty mountain roads which are home to many incredible views. The journey to Luang Prabang is around 5 Hours where we will arrive Luang Prabang in the afternoon.
 

Day 4: Luang Prabang

The first half of the day is spent visiting the museum at the former Royal Palace and the monasteries of Vat Xieng Thong and Vat Visoun.
After enjoying lunch we head to the nearby traditional Tai Lue weaving village of Ban Phanom. This village is famed for its intricately woven textiles and unique weaving techniques, in former times the village wove textiles for the royalty. We will visit also the Ock Pop Tok weaving center – Lao fair trade textile
enterprise.

The next stop is the incredibly scenic Kuang Xi Waterfall which is surrounded with turquoise blue pools and an ideal place for swimming! On the way back to Luang Prabang we stop at the Hmong village of Ban Na Oun where we see how they create a vast selection of handmade traditional Lao handicrafts.
Back in Luang Prabang we will visit Wat Phousi to enjoy the rewarding view of the city.

Day 5: Luang Prabang

In early morning, you will have chance to observe and join the daily alms’ giving to monks and novices. After breakfast embark  on a journey along Ou River where the remarkable landscape is filled with more than just natural magnificence.

The calm water sits at the base of a limestone cliff towering over the riverbank. You see the open mouth of a cave as you come closer to the stairs that rise to greet it. The Pak Ou Caves have a history that date back millennia, filled with thousands of Buddha icons within the dramatic cliff side. Rising around 50 feet above the water you can find the glistening figures of Buddha, mostly made from wood, blessing the cave and surrounded by limestone while incense filters through the scent of ancient earth. Return back to Luang Prabang in the afternoon in time for a Lao massage or relaxing at your comfortable resort. 

Day 6: End of Itinerary

Breakfast at hotel and leisure time until your airport transfer.
