Day 1: Windhoek

Day 1

Arrival in Windhoek

You will be picked up at the airport and driven to your first night’s stay in the middle of the bush. Here you can relax in the garden or at the pool, from where a beautiful view of the farmland is on offer. In the afternoon a tour of the farm can be undertaken, after which you’ll indulge in a delicious dinner.

Day 2: Kalahari Namibia

Drive to the Kalahari semi-desert

You will be driven to Windhoek, where you’ll pick up your rental car and drive into the Kalahari via Rehoboth and Kalkrand. At sunset you’ll join a nature tour dunes and-top off-road vehicle, driving through the up to 30m high red longitudinal dunes, and getting to see the typical flora and fauna of the Kalahari Desert.

Day 3: Sesriem

Sesriem/Sossusvlei

You cross the mountains through the spectacular Tsaris Pass and enter the Namib Desert, where the dreamlike landscapes of the Namib Rand give an idea of what you can expect over the next few days: the unbelievable vastness of the World’s oldest desert, with isolated inselbergs and dune landscapes. A visit to the Sesriem Canyon is possible in the afternoon.

Day 4: Gamsberg

Drive to Sossusvlei, where some of the highest dunes in the world shimmer golden, yellow, and reddish in the early morning sunlight, contrasted in razor-sharp focus by the deep, dark shadows on the other side. This makes the dune ridge stand out and is a photographer’s dream. Take a short hike to visit the photogenic Dead Vlei with its dead tree trunks. Then continue north via Solitaire to your next stop at a very unique and unusual lodge.

Day 5: Swakopmund

To Swakopmund

You’ll pass the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons and cross the central Namib Desert. On the way you are sure to see ostriches, but may also see springboks, zebras and oryx antelopes. Via Walvis Bay you’ll reach the coastal town of Swakopmund, where you spend the night right by the sea. A reservation at the restaurant overlooking the sea is optional.

Take a very interesting boat trip in the lagoon of Walvis Bay, where you’ll get to experience seals, dolphins, flamingos, pelicans, and, if you’re lucky, a whale or two. Various activities are available in the afternoon (optional).

Day 7: Erongo Gebirge

Erongo Mountains

Bid farewell to the sea and drive to the Erongo Mountains. Along the way, if you look to the north, you’ll see the majestic Spitzkoppe, also known as the Matterhorn of Namibia, which rises 600 meters above the surrounding plain. Your lodge for the night is nestled between bizarre granite rock formations.

Day 8: Etosha South

To Etosha National Park

Today you’ll want to get to Etosha National Park as quickly as possible. The park is one of the largest animal reserves in the world and is considered one of the most outstanding game parks in Africa. Animals are attracted by the Etosha Pan, a huge depression that is rarely filled with rainwater. At the park’s numerous waterholes lots of different animals and birds can be found all year round. You can enjoy your own game drives in the park, and in the evening watch the comings and goings at the floodlit waterhole.

Days 9 - 10: Etosha East

Etosha National Park

Exciting game viewing awaits you in the Etosha National Park, where you have two days to visit the various waterholes and observe animals such as giraffe, kudu, zebra, oryx antelope, black-nosed impala, wildebeest, springbok, ostrich and, with a bit of luck, even lions.

Day 11: Waterberg Plateau National Park

It is time to leave the wildlife of Etosha National Park and drive via Tsumeb and Otjiwarongo to the legendary Waterberg. Near Tsumeb you can visit Lake Otjikoto, where German World War I forces sank their cannons in 1915. The Waterberg is a natural paradise with unique vegetation. It is known for its rare animal species, colourful birdlife, and magnificent landscape.

Day 12: Okonjima Nature Reserve

Okonjima

A morning hike to the Waterberg plateau, where you’ll see almost all the trees and shrubs that can be found in Namibia, is possible (optional). The magnificent view of the vast savannah your reward for the climb. Afterwards, a short drive takes you to Okonjima, home of the AfriCat Foundation, where projects with leopards and hyenas are carried out, and will be explained during an afternoon game drive.

Day 13: Greater Windhoek

Drive towards Windhoek

Today you drive to a private game reserve just outside Windhoek, where you can relax by the pool and think back on your memorable holiday. It isn’t over yet though, as in the afternoon you’ll get to go on one last game drive.

Day 14: End of Itinerary

Departure

Your Namibia safari ends today with a short drive to Windhoek, where you’ll return your rental car. You’ll be taken to the airport via transfer, where you depart for home later that afternoon or evening.
