Day 1: Arusha

On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport in Arusha, Tanzania you are met and assisted through immigration formalities, collect your luggage and exit the terminal where you will meet your driver/guide.

Transfer by road to Arusha Coffee Lodge,  a drive of about an hour.

Overnight: Arusha Coffee Lodge - Dinner, bed and breakfast basis

  

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Arusha Airport in time to connect with a scheduled light air flight to Kuro airstrip.

On arrival you will be met by your driver/guide and transferred to Kuro Tarangire Camp, a tented camp in the centre of Tarangire National Park in northern Tanzania.  Well-known for its huge herds of elephants, drawn to the nearby Tarangire river in the dry season, if lucky you can also see gerenuk here, which is rare elsewhere in the region.

Overnight: Kuro Tarangire Camp - All meals, selected beverages, daily game activities on a private vehicle basis and laundry

Days 3 - 4: Tarangire National Park

Kuro Tarangire is located in the central part of Tarangire National Park, away from the busy north and in easy reach of the main river and Silale and Gursi Swamps plus other excellent game areas.  Covering an area of 2,600 square kilometres, the park is renowned for its concentration of wildlife during the drier months of July through October.  

Activities in the area include twice daily game drives both day and night and guided walks.

You have the next two nights at Kuro.

Days 5 - 6: Ngorongoro Crater

After a morning activity and breakfast, you will be transferred to Kuro airstrip in time to connect with your scheduled flight to Manyara airstrip.

On landing, you will be met by your driver/guide and transferred to Entamanu Camp, a drive of about 2 hours.  The camp is located on the rim of the Crater rim. 

2 to 3 million years ago, a volcano bigger than Kilimanjaro imploded; and the magma retreated leaving a vast collapsed hollow. Now in the shadow of 3000ft high crater walls, the resident wildlife  is diverse and  easily tracked - cheetah, elephant, hyena, hippo, lion, leopard, and a vast array of bird-life, including lesser flamingos. Views from the rim bring flashes of how the planet's first humans must have experienced it.

You have 2 nights at Entamanu Camp with two game drives on the crater floor.

Overnights: Entamanu Ngorongoro Camp - 2 nights - All meals, selected beverages, crater rim walk, two game drives on the crater floor on a private vehicle basis and laundry

 

Days 7 - 9: Northern Serengeti

This morning you will be transferred to Manyara airstrip in time to connect with your scheduled flight to Lamai airstrip.

On landing, at Lamai airstrip , you will be met by your driver/guide and transferred to  Camp.

The Serengeti is renowned for its sheer size, primeval landscapes and large populations of plains game.  Resident game is prolific even when the migration is not present making the Serengeti an all year round destination. The stark beauty of the escarpment and the open short grass plains provides a great backdrop to wildlife viewing.

You have 3 nights at Serian Camp enjoying twice daily game drives and guided bush walks.

Overnights: Serian Lamai Camp - 3 nights - All meals, selected beverages, twice daily game drives on a private vehicle basis, guided game walks and laundry

 

Expert tips

As Serian Camp is a mobile camp, it moves with the migration, so it changes location through the year:

  • Serian Lamai /Kogatende North Camp - opens 15 June to 15 November
  • Serian South Camp - opens 15 December to 1 May

Day 10: End of Itinerary

This morning you enjoy a final game viewing activity before departing.

You will be transferred to Lamai airstrip and connect with a scheduled flight to Kilimanjaro Airport.

On arrival you check-in for your home-bound flight and depart Africa.
