Day 1: Cape Peninsula

Today make your way to Cape Town's only 5-star hotel right on the beach & possibly the best hotel sea view in Cape Town.

Day 2: Cape Peninsula

Escape+Explore: Private Full Day Tour - Peninsula Out & About Adventure (including all entrance fees and wild picnic lunch)

The aim of the day is to explore the highlights of the Cape Peninsula in a unique way off the beaten path, looking for any excuse to embrace the ocean and explore one of the most unique marine habitats in the world.

Activities:

- Free Diving in a giant underwater Kelp Forests

- Explore with Penguins - Stand Up Paddle, Kayak or Conservation Walk near Boulders, Simon's Town

- Lunch - Wild Picnic 

- Explore -Cape Point - Shipwrecks, Whales, White Sand and Wildlife.

- Early Evening Sundowners - Like a Local

We start the day with the rising sun at St James tidal pools, where you will learn all there is to know about freediving from your experienced guide. Once you are ready to test your newly learned skills we will head to  Simons Town. Here we will explore the underwater enchanted Kelp Forests while snorkeling between these kelp giants you will spot a plethora of sea animals hiding amongst it.

From here, we will drive along the coast towards Simon’s Town, where we will search for our own rogue penguins – a splinter colony away from the crowded boardwalks over the main breeding site, on a beach known mostly to locals. Perhaps if the weather is favourable you could test out your balancing skills on a stand-up paddle board to really get to know the penguins in their own environment. 

Your guide will tell you more about the rich history surrounding this naval town, the museums and monuments provide plenty of insight into this historical harbour town.

We will then continue on to the Cape of Good Hope. In the peninsula reserve we will enjoy a gentle hike exploring secluded beaches, shipwrecks and this region’s unique wildlife while on the hunt for the Cape 5 (Ostrich, Baboons, Mountain Zebra, Bontebok and Tortoise).  Along the way, we will find a secluded scenic spot to enjoy a delicious gourmet picnic in a beautiful setting.

Winding down the day  we will stop at a magical surprise location for an early evening drink as a local taking in the vast Atlantic Ocean as the sun starts to set.

  

Day 3: Franschhoek

This morning, make your way to Franschhoek where you will be staying at the beautifully Last Word Franschhoek, walking distance to all the fabulous shops and restaurants.

Day 4: Franschhoek

The Winelands is overflowing with farms, each producing their own unique wines offering a range of flavours and tastes. What is often overlooked by the fleeting visitor is the varying ways one can explore the area while learning about the differing ways in which each farm tends to their vines.

Today, we uncover the natural beauty of the Winelands, an area known for its rows of vineyards and stunning estates dominated by forests, gardens and historic architecture. Our active exploration, on bike or foot, provides an intimate and fun opportunity to see this region - all at your own pace.

Cycle through Franschhoek, admiring the quaint buildings which date back to French Huguenot origins, and pass the bohemian galleries and designer boutiques for which this charming town is renowned. Enjoy sensational vistas over hidden gems, wine tastings at signature estates and an introduction to wine-making.

After your fantastic morning of biking, your guide will choose the perfect stop to re-energize your in a serene setting with a lovely array of snacks and drinks from our onboard pantry.

We continue with a unique musical journey, with the 'misfits of the wine industry' at Black Elephant Vinters & Co. Set Your Inner Rebel Free with a combination of sound and taste journey which completely sets Black Elephant apart from the commercial wine industry.

Sit down to a lovely local lunch in the heart of Franschhoek town at one of the microbreweries or French style restaurants.

We end the day visiting one of the smaller, boutique and family-owned wine estates for a more intimate wine tasting. Jacoline Haasbroek from My Wyn Wine Estate in Franschhoek manages her own cellar and wine tasting in her home overlooking the Franschhoek Valley. My Wyn does not have its own vineyards but instead buys in grapes from the same suppliers each year and Jacoline makes her own wine. Jacoline has won an award as one of the top 3 blends for her My Wyn Cabernet Franc 2015. Sit on her veranda and enjoy a personal wine tasting and great hospitality with Jacoline, afterwards there is the option of taking a walk to the nearby waterfall on her farm.

Day 5: End of Itinerary

After a lazy morning enjoying your beautiful location, make your way back to Cape Town.
