Day 1: Johannesburg

Welcome to South Africa!

On arrival at O.R. Tambo International Airport you are met by a representative as you exit the aircraft. Your representative will assist you through immigration and passport control, assist in collecting your luggage and proceed with you via customs to the arrivals hall. Here you will be introduced to your private driver. Transfer by private road transfer to the Peermont Dóreale Grande Hotel at Emperors Palace. This is a short transfer of about 5 minutes.

Day 2: Kimberley

After breakfast it is time to pack up and check out. Please meet your driver in the lobby of the hotel for your private road transfer to the Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria. On arrival you are assisted with your luggage and check in. The rain departs the station at 15h00 and tea is in the observation car and lounge at 16h30.

15h00 Depart from Rovos Rail Station aboard the Pride of Africa and travel south via Johannesburg through the goldfields of the Witwatersrand.

Day 3: Matjiesfontein

Expert tips

10h00 The train arrives in Kimberley. Passengers visit the Big Hole and the Diamond Mine Museum.

12h30 Depart Kimberley and proceed overnight via De Aar and Beaufort West to Matjiesfontein.

Day 4: Cape Town

This morning enjoy breakfast before a visit to the historical village of Matjiesfontein. Shortly afterwards the train departs for Cape Town, enjoy lunch on the train before it is time to pack up. Arrival into Cape Town is at Platform 24 and this is usually around 6pm. Once you arrive at the station you are met by your private driver and transferred by road to the One & Only Cape Town Hotel. Spend four nights here including breakfast.

Day 5: Cape Town

After a good night's rest you are ready to explore Cape Town!

Helicopter trips can be arranged, we recommend that this is done in advance, what a great way to experience the beauty of Cape Town.

A walking tour of the city is highly recommended, this combines well with a visit up Table Mountain and we recommend the cable car.

Day 6: Cape Town

If you are interested in the colourful history of this region, we recommend a visit to the Castle of Good Hope, a trip to Robben Island and a visit to the District 6 Museum. As there is so much to see and do in Cape Town we can help you tailor your activities in Cape Town. Once you provide us with a list of your interests, we can arrange private tours each day.

Day 7: Cape Town

Today is your last full day in Cape Town, if you have not had the chance yet we highly recommend a few hours at the V & A Waterfront. There are a number of fabulous restaurants in Cape Town, booking is essential so do let us know your preferences so that we can assist you with these bookings.

Day 8: Stellenbosch

This morning after breakfast it is time to check out. Please meet your driver / guide in the lobby of the hotel at the agreed time. Departure for the Winelands, we recommend that you enjoy a Winelands tour along the way, including a stop for lunch before continuing to Delaire Graff Lodge where you will spend the next two nights. The Winelands is not just about the vineyards, there is olive tasting, chocolate tasting and of course a lovely picnic lunch can be arranged

Day 9: Stellenbosch

Today is at leisure to enjoy the area. Relax in the beautiful surroundings, visit nearby Franschhoek or a fun way to enjoy the area is the Franschhoek Wine Tram.

Days 10 - 12: Tswalu Kalahari Game Reserve

And the journey continues .... today is an early start, we recommend you check out the night before to save time. Meet your driver in the main area at the agreed time and depart for Cape Town Airport. Your flight to Tswalu departs at 07h50. The flight to Tswalu is about 2 hours. Please note that your luggage allowance is 20 kg's per person in soft bags only.

On arrival at Tswalu you are met by a representative and transferred to the lodge. Day 13: Hazyview

This morning after breakfast please meet your guide in the main area and depart for the airstrip. Board your light aircraft flight to Johannesburg, this flight departs at On arrival you are met by a representative who will assist you with your luggage and to check in for your onward flight to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport. Due to the flight arrival times it is necessary to overnight near Nelspruit. including breakfast. Spend one night at Blue Mountain Lodge including breakfast.

Days 14 - 16: Londolozi Game Reserve

The final stop on your trip is at Londolozi, after breakfast depart for Londolozi with your private driver.

Spend three nights at Londolozi Tree Camp including all meals, shared activities, park fees and selected local brand drinks.

Day 17: End of Itinerary

Your journey home begins today. Transfer by game drive to the Skukuza Airport where you will board your scheduled flight to Johannesburg and here you will connect with your international flight.

Not ready to go home yet? You can fly to Livingstone from the Kruger Mpumalanga Airport for a few nights.
