Zambia's outstanding reputation of guiding is ever prevalent in our team with some of our guides having trained with Norman himself.  Our guides offer guests a raw, authentic safari experience and don't let the finer details in these vast spaces pass you by.

The Lower Zambezi is flanked by the Zambezi Escarpment and the mighty Zambezi River. The forested valley of the Lower Zambezi is a haven for abundant birds and wildlife. The region is especially wonderful for large elephant herds, diverse birdlife and wild dog. With the stunning landscapes, this is a great region for photographers. Dotted along the forested river banks,

Chongwe Safaris is famous for having the best views in the Lower Zambezi and elephants wandering through camp. The tents, suites, and private house offer the ideal retreat for all types of travelers. Read a book and take in the views, swim in the pool or stargaze around the campfire.

Days 12 - 13: Victoria Falls (Zambia)

Arrive Livingstone where you will be met by our local guide for transfer to Toka Leya located just down the river from the falls and set on a hill bordering the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.  The views are splendid: the spray of the Falls in the distance, the mighty Zambezi River and on top of that yet another beautiful African sunset. From either the main garden, infinity pool or from the privacy of your room, views are unmatched.

Over the next two days, activities include a tour of the Victoria Falls on the Zambian side, game drives within Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, river cruises, fishing excursions and guided nature walks. Tours of Livingstone town and museum and visits to Mkuni Market and Simonga Village are all outstanding ways of learning about the people and culture of this part of Zambia. Other activities on offer in the area at an additional charge include sunset cruises, helicopter flights, micro-lighting, canoeing, jet boating, and white water rafting.

Game drives into the Mosi-oa-Tunya Park offer sightings of general game species such as buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and impala and the protected Rhino.  There is rich birdlife here too, all of which can be enjoyed within the confines of the camp itself, on boat cruises and out on game drives.

The Victoria Falls is where the wide Zambezi River simply drops some 100 meters into a narrow gorge, straddling the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe.  Livingstone is the town on the Zambian side.
