Day 4: Northern Pantanal

Breakfast. Departure for Cuiabá, scheduled to arrive at midday. Lunch in the city and then off to the Pantanal. Part of the route is on a paved road through rural areas. Km “0” of the Transpantaneira starts in Poconé (108 km from Cuiabá). Passing through the Transpantaneira Park Road is, in fact, a real photographic safari with several stops to observe the wildlife and the unusual landscape.

Arrival at Pousada Araras, reception and accommodation. Introductory walk around the lodge explaining our various conservation projects. Continue to the Mirante da Garça, a 12-meter-high observation tower, to enjoy the sunset.

After dinner, a walk under the stars to observe the Pantanal's nocturnal life and habits. Overnight.

Please note that the exact scheduling of the excursions may vary depending on the season, water cycle, and weather conditions, so the order in which the excursions will be carried out may vary from what is described in the travel program; the exact times of each excursion will be confirmed by the pousada staff.

Day 5: Northern Pantanal

Departure for the Rio Clarinho. Rowing boat trip on the Rio Clarinho, exploring the banks of the riparian forest and mangrove swamp. This is where giant otters live and, if you're lucky, you'll see them playing with their families. There is the possibility of fishing for piranhas, a fun and challenging activity, as they have the ability to steal the bait from the hook without the fisherman realizing it.

Barbecue-style lunch will be prepared at the campsite by the river. We return to the Pousada for lunch. We end this rich day with a hike to the Bugio Tower, our tallest tower - 25 m high - which offers a spectacular view over the Pantanal plain.

After dinner, a night game drive in a safari truck in search of nocturnal animals.
