Your adventure begins early today. Due to the early departure time of the train we highly recommend that you spend the night in Pretoria prior to the day of departure. For the purpose of this itinerary we have indicated Sharaton Hotel, Pretoria, please note that this is not included in the cost.
Early this morning transfer to The Pretoria Station Lounge to check in at 06h30 and enjoy some pre-departure drinks. Welcome snacks will be served on board the train. At 07h30 boarding starts and your butler will usher you to your suite for your an orientation. Boarding closes at 08h00 and the train will depart from the station at 08h30. Brunch is served in two seatings, the first from 10h30 to 12h00 and the second from 12h30 to 14h00. High tea is not to be missed and this is at 15h30.
Weather and time permitting, the train will stop at the Kimberley station at around 17h10. Here you disembark and gather at the railway museum from you will be transported in a bus to the Kimberley Open Mine Museum. Arrive at the Open MIne Museum by 17h30 for a tour of the mine. You are first to view interesting and historial sites and finally onto an enclosed ramp in the edge of the Kimberley hole.
At 18h35 depart for Kimberley Station where you are greeted with a glass of sherry, ths sherry glass is engraved with The Blue Train logo and this is a momento for you to keep.
At 19h10 your Blue Train journey continues. You will have some time to freshen up before dinner. Dinner is served in two seatings, 19h30 to 21h00 and from 21h15. Remember, dinner is an elegant affair and men are requested to wear a jacket and tie and ladies elegant evening wear. We highly recommend Cognacs and cigars in the Club Car before retiring to bed.
This morning wake to the gentle sounds of the tracks. Breakfast is served from 07h00 to 10h00 and a three course meal is served for lunch at your leisure between 12h00 and 14h45.
At 15h00 the Blue Train arrives at Cape Town Station and your butlers will usher you to the The Blue Train Lounge where you will be met by your driver for onward arrangements.
