Day 1: Vienna

Welcome to Vienna! 

Upon arrival,  transfer to your hotel by private coach followed by check-in. 

In the evening, visit the famous Prater-park close by, known for its historical Ferris-wheel and amusement park. The Prater Ferris-wheel was first opened in 1857, as a part of the 50th celebrations of Emperor Franz-Joseph. It quickly became a  symbol of Vienna and is still a must-see attraction in town. 
Before walking to dinner, enjoy a warming cup of Glühwein (mulled wine).

Dinner is served at the Meierei, famous for its traditional food and great service. 

Return to your hotel at your own leisure.

Watch the movie "The third man"  - an exciting British thriller from 1949 set in post-war Vienna.

Day 2: Vienna

Guided Tour by coach and foot

Enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel, before heading out on a guided tour of the beautiful Austrian capital. See the Ring Road, where once the City Walls stood to protect the town from the Turks. In the 19th century, Emperor Franz-Joseph had their town down to showcase Vienna as an open city with a stately boulevard going around town. Lined with spectacular buildings, such as the Hofburg, the Burgtheater, the Town Hall and many more, the Ring Road is without a doubt one of the most famous attractions in town. Listen to stories from days gone by until today of the proud city and its royal past! 
Your tour also takes you to the interesting Hundertwasser House, designed by the architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser.  Built in the '80s, the house has no right angles, features trees on the roof, and a colorful facade. It has become a part of Vienna's cultural heritage and is one of the most visited buildings in Vienna.  

The afternoon is free at your leisure for visiting the fantastic Christmas market and have some fun at Christmas shopping or sightseeing. 

Return to your hotel and get ready for a traditional Dinner at the "Heurigen". A place where traditional food is served, accompanied by local wines and Heurigen music.

Expert tips

For a light lunch, head to the epic Trzesniewski sandwich store in Dorotheengasse. Choose from a wide selection of small, ready-cut sandwiches. 

Wine and Wien is more than an anagram. Visit Europes most distinguished "Palais Coburg" Wine Collection accommodated in a beautiful palace with great history.

For the ones suffering from a sweet tooth - a visit to the emperors finest Confectionery "Demel" is a must.

Day 3: Vienna

Schönbrunn Palace - The imperial summer residence

After a good night's sleep and breakfast, transfer to the Schönbrunn Palace. Originally built as a royal hunting lodge at the beginning of the 17th century, the Schönbrunn Palace grew into the palace it is today over the 18th century. Featuring a total of 1441 rooms, the imperial family definitely had enough space to roam! See the imperial apartments of Emperor Franz-Joseph and his beloved Elisabeth, the staterooms and listen to stories of the Royal Habsburgs and how Empress Maria-Theresia became known as "Europe's Mother-in-law". 

Spend time at your own leisure after the tour. At the front of the Palace, you will find one of  Vienna's nicest Christmas markets.  If you are looking for Christmas decorations, locally produced arts, and crafts and a Glühwein and Lebkuchen to go with it - this is the place for you!

Return to the city (or your hotel) by private coach. 

In the evening, transfer to the Kursalon on the Ring Road for dinner at Das Johann, before a traditional Mozart concert held in beautiful surroundings. 

    

Expert tips

The gardens of the Schönbrunn palace are spectacular also in winter. Walk up to the Gloriette for amazing views of the palace and surrounding areas!
