Day notes

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park . Arrive in time for lunch at Tarangire Treetops Lodge situated among the giant baobab trees on the outskirts of the Tarangire National Park. You will find this magic Never land at the end of a long road that winds its way through a stunningly beautiful patchwork of grassy savanna and looming baobab trees. Like a burst of tawny fireworks, leaping impala explode from the bush as you turn into the Lodge's main entrance. Upon first glance at the surreal surroundings, you will feel like you've suddenly stepped foot into a fairytale.

Following lunch, depart for an afternoon game viewing drive in the park returning later as the sun sets.

Day notes

After breakfast, drive to The Ngorongoro Manor for lunch. After lunch, depart to the beautiful Lake Manyara, a shallow alkaline lake that shimmers in a cleft in the Great Rift Valley. Arrive and embark on a game viewing drive.

Tucked below the majesty of the Rift Valley wall, Lake Manyara National Park consists of a thin green

band of forest, flanked by the sheer 600 m high red and brown cliffs of the escarpment on one side and

by the white-hot shores of an ancient soda lake on the other. Acacia woodland shelters the park’s famous

tree climbing lions, lying languidly among the branches in the heat of the day. Lake Manyara

safaris offers many unique views including elephant, giraffe, buffalo and wildebeest can be found grazing in unexpected clearings or heading towards the water to drink or wash, and the rivers and riverbeds provide scenic vistas for possible animal spotting.

Warthog seem to thrive here, growing notably fat and tuskered, and it is a natural playground for baboons and monkeys. Later as the sun sets, you will be transferred to which stands on the edge of the escarpment, overlooking the lake.

Continue to the Manor at Ngorongoro for overnight. Located in the green and rolling hills south of the

Ngorongoro Crater within a 1500-acre Arabica coffee estate, The Manor Ngorongoro with its 20

luxurious cottages and magnificent Main House is reminiscent of an elegant up-country farm home in

the Cape Dutch-style of architecture. Each of the cottages has been carefully positioned to maximise the

views of the adjacent verdant hills but at the same time to maintain the intimacy and privacy of this oldworld manor home. The Manor boasts beautiful gardens overlooking the surrounding coffee-laden hills.

virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. Enclosed within its towering walls are grasslands, swamps,

forests, saltpans, a fresh water lake and a glorious variety of birdlife. Here too are all the members of the

‘Big Five’ (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo) as well as a large cast of plains game and one of Africa’s densest populations of predators. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before driving back to

your lodge for relaxation before dinner

Day 7 - 9

Northern Serengeti

Day notes

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for flight to Serengeti. Arrival and transfer to Serengeti Migration Camp. You will have two days of game viewing drives in this part of Serengeti

The combination of location and resident prey attracts the largest populations of predators in Africa. It is this amazing abundance and diversity of easily seen large predators that attracts thousands of visitors and hundreds of researches. There is simply no better place in Africa to observe these large carnivores and since many are resident, excellent encounters are available year round regardless of the season or where the great migratory herds are located. It is not unusual to see all four large predators

(lion, hyena, leopard and cheetah) during the course of a day in the central Serengeti.

Internationally renowned for the greatest wildlife spectacle on the planet, The Serengeti National Park located in north west Tanzania is the ultimate ‘wildlife show’ on earth. Across the globe authors and filmmakers have come to document the Annual Migration of hundreds of thousands of animals, but there is still only one way to understand and experience the true magnificence of this natural phenomena and that is to be part of it.

Kendwa

Day notes

You will have breakfast this morning. After this last taste of Africa, you will be transferred to the airstrip

for your flight departing at 1100hrs to Arusha arriving at 1215hrs. Connect on your flight to Zanzibar departing at 1400hrs. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you will be met and transferred to Kilindi Zanzibar,

Kilindi Zanzibar, comprising of a series of white-domed Pavilion guest rooms all set in 35 acres of lush tropical gardens, is a rarity in the world of luxury boutique hotels. Originally designed for Benny Andersson - one of the members of the 1970's pop group ABBA - Kilindi is a true blend of the very best of diverse cultures to be found in Tanzania and on its adjacent island of Zanzibar.

Kilindi achieves the perfect marriage between Scandinavian minimalism and the dramatic architectural overtones of Middle Eastern heritage, whilst encouraging an open, 'back-to-nature' ambiance throughout.

In each of the Pavilion Suites, white wooden-slatted shutters embrace wide-arched glassless windows each affording spectacular views over the Indian Ocean. This same openness allows the gentle ocean breeze to waft throughout each of the rooms and carry with it an exceptional soundtrack of Zanzibar's colourful fauna. With sights and sounds gifted by such creatures as the indigenous red colobus monkeys and the ever-present and ever-busy yellow weaver birds, any stay at Kilindi will be a delight for the senses. Kilindi's 'open-to-nature' approach provides the true essence to any stay and crafts a private, intimate and 'barefoot' appeal that so many crave. If you love nature, you will adore Kilindi
