Best of the Cape and Kruger

Upon arrival in Cape Town, you will be met by a local representative and transferred to your guest house in a suburb of Cape Town. 

Today you embark on a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. Take in the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, before crossing over to Hout Bay, where you may choose to join an optional boat cruise to Seal Island. From here you drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve via Chapman's Peak, one of the world's most breath-taking coastal drives, where you will board a funicular (optional and for your own account) to get to the top of the Peninsula to witness the symbolic meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans and enjoy spectacular views over False Bay.

After lunch (for your own account), continue to Simonstown, the naval base, and visit the African Penguin breeding colony at Boulders Beach. Then stop at the world-renowned Kirstenbosch Gardens before arriving back at your hotel for the evening.

This delightful drive winds its way to the heart of the Cape Winelands, through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. 

Head off the heart of South Africa's wine industry, Stellenbosch, which boasts the great beauty and culture that is steeped in South African history. With the sheer vastness of wine estates on offer, we are truly spoilt for choice when we enjoy our first wine tasting of the day at the Waterford Estate or similar.

Travel over the Helshoogte Pass to the town of Franschhoek, historically dating back to the 17th century when the French Huguenots arrived. We enjoy a wine tasting before taking time to enjoy the fabled culinary skills of the Franschhoek chefs at one of the many award winning restaurants (lunch not included in cost).

Onward to Paarl, one of the Cape’s first farming districts. The town is set at the foot of the cluster of remarkable granite domes from which it takes its name. Our last stop for the day is at a wine estate on the Paarl wine route.

We return to the bustle of city life after an enthralling day in the countryside, arriving back at the hotels at approximately 17:30. The rest of the evening is at your leisure.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Grootbos Nature Reserve. Only 2 hours from Cape Town and 30 minutes from Hermanus on the way to the world-renowned Garden Route, Grootbos is perfectly situated between the classic attractions of the Cape and is most certainly a highlight on any itinerary.

From the mighty and majestic Southern Right Whales of Walker Bay to the blossoming brilliance of the Cape Floral Kingdom, it is our endeavor to immerse you in all the abundant treasures that the Southern Tip of Africa has to offer.

Feast on the finest cuisine and locally sourced wines while watching spectacular sunsets over the ocean; treat yourself to a rejuvenating spa treatment in our ancient forest; or join a specialized guide to discover the wonders of this floral and marine paradise by foot, horseback, 4x4, boat or plane! Several activities are included and there are many additional options. If you are more of a thrill-seeker, consider cage-diving to chance a close-up encounter with the Great White Sharks! This optional activity is offered nearby (weather dependent).

After a morning activity (time permitting), you will be transferred back to the Cape Town airport for a scheduled flight to Skukuza (flight not included) and a road transfer to your safari camp. Enjoy an afternoon game activity at your safari accommodation!
