Welcome to Namibia!
After collecting your baggage and clearing customs you will be met by your guide in the arrival terminal.
We depart the capital for Mount Etjo Game Reserve.
After check in spend the rest of the day relaxing and acclimatizing, or join on an optional sunset drive.
After breakfast we depart to a paradise on the Uniab River in northwest Damaraland.
Waving palms whispering in the wind, spectacular surroundings which harbour the famous desert elephant, the rare dessert adapted black rhino, giraffe, zebra, gemsbok and many other wild animal species and sunsets to dream of. This is Palmwag Lodge, one of Namibia's oldest and most popular tourist destination.
The predator population is the largest outside of the Etosha National Park, with over 100 lions, cheetah, leopard, brown and spotted hyena. Bird life is prolific and diverse with most of Namibia's endemics present. This concession supports a healthy population of desert adapted black rhino and elephants.
Today we explore the Palmwag Concession area in search of desert adapted elephants, lions and rhinos.
After breakfast we make our way towards Khowarib Lodge, nestled on the banks of the Hoanib river in the magnificent Khowarib Gorge in north west Namibia.
Today you will make your way towards Hobatere. The lodge is situated in a concession area of 8 808 hectares, which is home to a rich diversity of game, including elephant and lion. With conservation in mind, the lodge is actively involved in promoting the peaceful co-existence of man and nature. Thatched roofs keep the well-appointed chalets cool and offer shade against the heat of the African savannah. Hobatere offers a walk on the wild side and is a paradise for birdwatchers and photographers.
Hobatere offers the visitor the opportunity to experience game drives in open vehicles with knowledgeable and experienced rangers. In both the morning and afternoon drives the guests will have all the benefit of enjoying an exclusive wildlife-rich area, whilst bird-watching enthusiasts can also applaud the variety of species found in this concession.
Join a Night Drive from 20h00 in search of the elusive nocturnal animals and end the drive at their Boma, where you can relax with a drink and a bush dinner.
Today you will travel to Namibia's favorite wildlife destination, the Etosha National Park.
Okaukuejo, located 17 km from the southern entrance of the Etosha National Park, is famous for its flood-lit waterhole, where visitors can observe at close quarters a spectacle of wildlife congregating and interacting.
Once in the park we have our first opportunity to see four of the big five and an abundance of antelope, giraffe and other game. The Park is the flagship of Namibia’s conservation areas, teeming with large game and boasting about 380 species of birds. We will be based around the park for the next few days and we will spend time visiting a range of habitats.
A definite highlight is the flood-lit waterhole at Okaukuejo at night. Sit tight and wait for Black Rhino, Elephant and many other interesting nocturnal species to come and drink.
We will spend today exploring the park as we make our way through to the east.
We will stop at the Halali Restcamp for lunch.
Today we make our way back to the central escarpment towards the Waterberg National Plateau.
This park was created as a sanctuary for the rare and endangered species of the Caprivi. The table top mountain plateau comprises a sandy plain flanked by 100 m high cliffs and scree slopes. The high diversity of birdlife in this semi-arid region is due to the location of the Waterberg at the meeting point of broad-leafed woodland on northern Kalahari sandveld on top of the plateau and mixed thorn bush savannah below. A third habitat is provided by the cliffs and scree slopes.
A night walk around the lodge will give us an opportunity to see Bush Babies.
Today we make our way towards the Erindi Private Game Reserve, a protected reserve in the central of Namibia.
Erindi, meaning “place of water”, is a sustainable natural wonderland. They are custodians to the most prolific amount of endemic species and multiple conservation projects. With 70,719 hectares of pristine wilderness under care, they have undertaken an immense task to pursue conservation initiatives in the name of eco-friendly tourism, whilst empowering local communities.
Today we roam the expansive landscape of the Erindi Game Reserve.
After checkout we depart for Windhoek.
Drop off at Hosea Kutako International Airport for your departure flight back home.
Wishing you safe travels back home and we hope you enjoyed your visit to our beautiful country!
