Day 1: Overnight Travel

Day 2: Negombo

On arrival at the Colombo Airport, you will be met and transferred to the hotel in Negombo.

Rest of the day at leisure

Day 3: Sigiriya

Today after breakfast proceed to Sigiriya.

En-route visit the Dambulla Cave temple.

It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses.

On completion proceed to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 4: Sigiriya

Today morning after Breakfast you will climb the Sigiriya Rock.

Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. It is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning. It is the most visited historic site in Sri Lanka.

The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres (660 ft) high. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavamsa, this site was selected by King Kasyapa (477 – 495 CE) for his new capital. He built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. On a small plateau about halfway up the side of this rock he built a gateway in the form of an enormous lion.

In the evening proceed to Minneriya National Park for an evening game drive.

Minneriya National Park is an ideal eco tourism location in Sri Lanka. The park consists of mixed evergreen forest and scrub areas and is home to Sri Lanka’s favorites’ such as sambar deer, leopards and elephants. However the central feature of the park is the ancient Minneriya Tank (built in 3rd century AD by King Mahasena).

Return to the Aliya Resort and Spa for the overnight stay.

Day 5: Sigiriya

After breakfast proceed to Polonnaruwa to do the city tour.

Polonnaruwa – another “World Heritage Site” was the Capital of Sri Lanka from 11th - 13th Centuries, contains some splendid and spectacular statues. Lankatilake, Tivanka and Thuparama are the most beautiful and largest Image Houses and Tivanka has the best example of frescoes of the Polonnaruwa period. Rankoth Vehera and Kirivehera are well preserved large stupas, and Gal Vihare - a rock shrine, has four Buddha statues, two seated, one standing and one reclining and Parakrama Bahu statue are examples of Sinhalese stone carver. The Vata-da-ge is a unique creation of the Sri Lankan artists.

On completion return to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure.

Day 6: Kandy

After breakfast proceed to Kandy.

On completion visit the spice gardens + Batik factory in Matale

Continue your drive to Kandy.

A lively city, Kandy is surrounded by rolling hills and forest. The last capital of the Singhalese Kingdom, this hill country city is famed for its lake and the Temple of the Tooth.

In the evening you will visit the Temple of tooth and witness a traditional Sri Lankan Cultural Dance Show.

Kandy City Tour

Day 7: Kandy

After breakfast proceed to Peradeniya to visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens.

Royal Botanical Gardens attracts 2 million visitors annually. It is near the Mahaweli River (the longest in Sri Lanka). It is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Attached to it is the National Herbarium of Sri Lanka.

In the evening do a city tour of Kandy.

Day 8: Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, proceed to the Kandy railway station and board in to the train and continue your journey to Nuwara Eliya in a 1st carriage.


Train has to cross a lot of mountain ranges and passing through tea plantations, eucalyptus forests, mountains, villages and more tea plantations. Much of the track snakes it way along the edge of the mountains overlooking huge valleys of firstly tea plantations and small villages, then forests and waterfalls, before crossing to the other side of the range and being greeted with more valleys of tea plantations and small villages.


On arrival at the Nuwara Eliya railway station you will be met and transferred to the Hotel.

Nuwara Eliya-situated in the central mountains at an altitude of over 6000 feets-is the premier hill resort of Sri Lanka. Overlooked by Mt. Piduratalagala, the highest peak of Sri Lanka, nuwara eliya's literal meaning is the city of light.

In the evening do a city tour of Nuwara Eliya.

Day 9: Colombo

Today morning after breakfast drive to Colombo for your final day in Sri Lanka.

On completion proceed to visit a tea plantation / Tea Factory in Nuwara Eliya.

In the evening do a city tour of Colombo.

Colombo – is the business and commercial center and the new capital is Sri Jayawardhanapura Kotte, which is only a few miles away. Colombo was only a small seaport, which came into prominence in the 16th Century with the arrival of the Portuguese in 1505 and the development of it as a major Harbor during the British period and became the capital in 1815 after Kandy was ceded to the British. The remains of the buildings during the period and the Portuguese, Dutch and British rule are found in every area of the city. None of the Portuguese & Dutch fortifications are found today but some of their buildings and churches could be seen in the Fort & Pettah areas. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street – the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area where there is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, the Kaymans Gate with the Belfry at the original gate to enter the Fort, the Dutch Church of Wolfendhaal dating back to 1749, Colombo Museum and the Natural History Museum are some of the sites to be visited. Also visit the BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall), see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independence Square.

Return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
