On arrival in Johannesburg you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Sandton. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, depending on your time of arrival in Johannesburg you may have time to enjoy an afternoon tour in Johannesburg. Alternatively your hotel is directly across, within easy and safe walking distance, to Nelson Mandela Square where there is a good choice of restaurants for dinner and Sandton City has some good shops.
This morning your rental vehicle will be delivered to your hotel and you will head off to Madikwe Game Reserve to your lodge for the next few days. This will be an approximately 4 and a half hour's drive.
Enjoy your first afternoon game drive.
Twice daily game drives/safaris are conducted by our rangers whose superb bush knowledge is imparted in the manner best suited to the bush knowledge of the guests on the specially designed landcruiser game viewing vehicle. Traversing on the full 75000 hectares the Madikwe Game Reserve has become known to offer some the best game viewing in South Africa. Experience excellent general game, stunning bird life and regular sighting of the sought after “Big 5” – Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, Black and White Rhino.
The exquisitely appointed main lodge offers separate lounge, dining and lounge bar facilities – each with its own roaring fireplace in winter. At the main area of the lodge enjoy the rim-flow pool overlooking the active waterhole, have a cocktail under the shade of the Motswiri trees (Leadwood in Tswana) on the main deck or just while away the day in the outside lounge and bar area. Fine cuisine is served in the dining room, under the Leadwood or around a roaring fire in the boma.
Today you will drive back to Johannesburg in time for your flight to Port Elizabeth. On arrival in Port Elizabeth Airport collect your rental vehicle and drive to your guest house for the night.

Today you will drive to St Francis Bay where you will spend the next 3 days. There are lots of great activities to enjoy and take part in here.
Today you will head off along the scenic Garden Route, we can highly recommend some activities near Tsitsikamma - a zip-lining canopy tour and a kayak and lilo adventure combined with a visit to the Tsitsikamma National Park.
Continue your drive to your destination base for the next few days - Knysna.
You have a full 3 days to explore the surrounding area around Knysna.
On one of the days we highly recommend a day visit with a walking safari in Botlierskop Game Reserve followed by a visit to Mossel Bay.
We can also recommend an Eco Experience in the Featherbed Nature Reserve.
In the evening perhaps a sunset sail through the Knysna Heads.
Today perhaps a visit to Plettenberg Bay with a hike in the Robberg Nature Reserve and a marine boat excursion to look for whales and dolphins. There are also some lovely animal sanctuaries to visit in the area.
Today travel over the beautiful Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn. Along the way you will pass through WIlderness, which has some lovely hiking trails and also some canoeing on offer through the river and gorge.
Oudtshoorn is famous for its Cango Caves and Ostrich Farms. The Cango Caves offer 2 tour options - the standard Heritage Tour and the Adventure Tour. Our favourite Ostrich Farm to visit is Safari Ostrich Farm, which also had a good example of a "Feather Palace".
Today we suggest a Swartberg Mountains & Prince Albert Full-Day Eco and Khoi Cultural Tour with “Hop-on” Guide. THis tour will take you on a trip to the top of the Swartberg Pass, where you can enjoy a hike in the resreve, and then descend the pass into the pretty little town of Prince Albert for lunch. THe tour continues to a waterfall on the Meiringspoort Pass and then back to Oudtshoorn via the Little Karoo village of De Rust.
Today you will depart the Karoo again and head back down to the coast to the Whale Capital of the World - Hermanus. Enjoy an afternoon walk along the cliff tops looking out for SOuthern Right Whales which come to these waters each year in Winter to calve.
Why not start the day with a boat-based whale watching excursion, followed by a quad biking trail through the vineyards of the Hemel en Aarde Valley and then over the mountains to your hotel on a wine estate in Stellenbosch.

Enjoy a full day trip through the Cape Winelands, visiting some of the different estates for tastings and interesting wine and food pairings - we can recommend a few based on your specific likes. Visit the pretty town of Franschhoek for lunch and then make your way to Cape Town.
You have 3 full day to see and experience Cape Town... the options and choices are endless! The must-see and dos are of course Table Mountain and the city, the Cape Peninsula and possibly a visit to Robben Island for a historical tour.
The final day of your holiday, yours to spend in Cape Town, a chance for any activities or siteseeing that you still want to do.
Drive back to Cape Town International Airport for departure.
