After breakfast we have the option to join known botanist and conservation manager, Sean Privett on this exciting trail to test your endurance. The different trails include a 15 - 25km trail which can be done on the Reserve as well as a 30 - 40km trail which starts in Flower Valley and makes its way through the Reserve. (transport to starting point is provided) The trails offer a good challenge as they wind through nature reserves and vineyards while changing from single to 4x4 track and climbing roughly 1000m with some fast downhills. Guests can also choose the routes by themselves with the provided map. And as much as it challenges you, the activity is also very informative. Host Sean Privett holds a wealth of information about the Reserve and its surrounds as well as the indigenous fauna and flora of the area as he is a co-author of Field Guide to the Flora of Grootbos and the Walker Bay Region.
