Begin your family’s African adventure at the gorgeous boutique hotel, House of Waine, located in the leafy suburb of Karen in Nairobi. The lush gardens that surround the rooms add to the beauty of this upmarket retreat. The relaxed atmosphere allows you the freedom to do as much, or as little, as you please on your first day in Kenya before you begin your safari in the stunning Mara region.

Transfer to Wilson Airport for your light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara Conservancies, just over an hour away, where your safari guide will be waiting to greet you. Welcome to your home away from home in the bush! Our three-bedroomed Mara Bush Houses have a dedicated team to cater to your family’s every want and need. Venture out for the day on a game drive through the hills, valleys, and plains of the Greater Mara area. Along the way you can investigate tracks, discover the sounds and smells of the bush, and even visit local schools where your children can make pen pals and learn of the local traditions. You’ll have three days to explore the region before you hop on a plane and enjoy a well-deserved island retreat.

This is the ultimate way to end an East African family safari. After a number of busy days in the African bush out on game drives and in the sun, there’s no better place to unwind than on the cool, tropical island of Zanzibar. Fly here by light aircraft from the Masai Mara, stopping off on the way in Nairobi to change planes, enjoying stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the turquoise Indian Ocean as you fly.

You’ll be spending three days at Matemwe Beach House, the perfect escape for families looking for a private slice of the beautiful northern Zanzibari coast. With the waters of the Indian Ocean only a few steps away, there are a host of activities to keep busy – fun water sports such as kayaking along the coast, snorkelling, boating and even fishing trips are easily arranged.
