Ant’s Hill is hosted by a wonderful team who create an open and friendly atmosphere. Built on the edge of a cliff, this bush home offers breath-taking views across the Waterberg. With spacious rooms and vast folding doors, the thatched lodge blends into the bush, while exotic furniture and brightly coloured African fabrics make it both sophisticated and comfortable.
Each cottage is uniquely designed and the individual bathrooms are spectacular, offering guests sunken baths and waterfall showers. Set in boulders on the edge of the cliff, the heated swimming pool offers fabulous views across reserve, enticing you to relax there for hours.

Transfer to the lovely Madikwe Private Game Reserve and check in at your Lodge. Stretching over 75 000 hectares of African bush, the Madikwe Game Reserve contains a diverse environment offering the discerning nature lover a great abundance of life. With a general game count of over 10 000 animals Madikwe includes 60 species of large mammal and over 400 species of bird.
Madikwe is in a semi-arid region straddling South Africa's Savannah and Dessert Biome Areas. The climate and altitude of the area do not support malaria-carrying Anopheles mosquitos.
While each Lodge is different, you will generally awake early with a steaming cup of coffee and a traditional South African rusk before departing on your morning Game Drive in an open top Safari vehicle accompanied by a qualified Ranger and Tracker. Spend the morning discovering the African wildlife up close before returning to your Lodge for brunch.
Enjoy some downtime next to the pool before enjoying Afternoon Tea and departing on your afternoon/evening Game Drive. More often than not you will find yourself stopping for a cheeky G&T in the middle of the bush at Sundown before returning to your lodge for dinner, often served al-fresco around a blazing open log fire in the traditional African Boma.
