Day 1: Borobudur

Upon arrival at airport of Yogyakarta, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Central Java - The Plataran Borobudur Resort.

Once checked in, the rest of the day is yours to get settled and explore the area around your hotel.

Day 2: Borobudur

Enjoy breakfast at hotel and a free day at leisure.

  1. Explore the magnificent Borobudur Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  2. Take in the stunning sunrise or sunset views from the top of the temple.
  3. Learn about the history and significance of Borobudur through guided tours.
  4. Visit the nearby Mendut and Pawon temples.
  5. Shop for traditional handicrafts and souvenirs in the surrounding villages.

Day 3: Borobudur

Wake up very early this morning to experience a sunrise Borobudur tour.

You'll depart Borobudur around 04:30AM, arriving at the temple in the dark. This is the most mystical time to see the temple, seeing the first rays of the day illuminate the structure in the tranquil morning air.

Once illuminated, spend time exploring this massive Buddhist Temple before the tour buses arrive. Admire the thousands of intricate carvings found along Borobudur’s walls and learn about the incredible history behind its construction.

Travel to a nearby market to browse the fresh produce on sale then continue to Pawon and Mendut. Learn about the temple's history and unique architecture while walking around these small but impressive monuments.

Return to the hotel for breakfast and then freshen up before enjoying an in-depth exploration of Candirejo, a typical rural village. Travel by dokar, a local horse cart, crossing small lanes lined with traditional houses. Pass by scenes of daily life, such as making cassava crackers or drying chilies. Stop often to take photos or to chat with the locals, learning more about their typical activities and rich traditions.

Say farewell to the residents of Candirejo and wrap up the day trip from Yogyakarta with a camera full of memories.  You'll be transferred back to your hotel in time for dinner.

Day 4: Ubud

Breakfast at the hotel and check out before heading to the airport for your flight to Denpasar.

Once arrived in Denpasar Airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel, the  Komaneka Bisma.                                                                                       

Day 5: Ubud

Ubud is a typical Balinese village where nature and arts are still preserved. Walk along the Ubud area and have an encounter with one of the grandsons of the famous painter and architect, Mr Lempad in his house in Ubud then walk along the lush path of Campuhan ridge.

Explore and discover the many charms of Ubud on foot. Start with a visit of Ubud’s Sacred Monkey Forest. This heavily forested park features three ancient Hindu temples, beautiful jungle-covered statues and, of course, several groups of indigenous macaques.

Continue along Hanoman Street to a local community space to learn about making the unique Balinese offerings called Canang Sari, which are integral part of Balinese life and their gratitude to the Gods. Refresh with a chilled coconut before going on a stroll across Ubud’s bustling art market. Browse the colorful stalls filled with handicrafts and textiles, meet with friendly locals and bargain for unique souvenirs.

Lunch will be served at Indus Restaurant.

Following lunch, head to the bridge and hike up one of Ubud’s most scenic walking paths. Wander amid the verdant fields with panoramic views onto the surrounding lush valleys.

At the end of the path meet your guide and driver for your transfer back to your hotel.

Day 6: Ubud

You will be picked up from your hotel (in UBUD) early in the morning and depart to the starting point at the base of Mount Batur.

Upon arrival, local guides will welcome you and after the introductions and all preparations have been checked (a flashlight included) you will receive a complete safety briefing for the track. The first section is through plenty of volcanic ash, sand and small rocks. The pathway is mostly uphill but with several opportunities to stop and rest. After approximately two hours (2km) of climbing you will approach the top of the crater where the terrain is totally different, a wind-swept pathway with very few rocks and vegetation.

While sitting at the top (1,717 meters), you will witness the long awaited stunning sunrise over Mount Abang and Mount Agung. On clear days it is even possible to view Lombok’s Mount Rinjani in the distance across the Lombok Strait.

A simple breakfast with hot coffee or tea will accompany you while enjoying the view.

You''ll then descend from the crater along the same path as you climbed in the dark, this time allowing for spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. You will see the lava flows from the most recent eruptions and their path of destruction as well as Lake Batur in the distance.

Upon reaching the bottom, there is time for some bathing in a local hot spring and lunch will be served in the stunning Bagus Jati Restaurant, you will have a healthy organic lunch while admiring the jungle and valley panorama.

Day 7: Ubud

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel & then get ready to embark on a culinary adventure unlocking the secrets of authentic Balinese cooking, utilizing traditional ingredients and preparation methods, in a fully equipped community village kitchen.

Your day starts early at the Ubud markets, where you can pick from fresh herbs & spices, crisp vegetables and choice cuts of meat, before heading off on guided ‘padi’ expeditions.

Upon your return to Laplapan village, you will be warmly welcomed and expertly guided by your host, who will help you to discover how to create your very own delicious authentic Balinese dishes.

You’ll then meet in the kitchen and begin your cooking. Not only will you discover the herbs, spices and techniques of Balinese cooking but you will also learn about the ceremonial and cultural significance of food in Balinese society.

When all food has been prepared by you and the other participants, you'll sit down to enjoy the meal together with a glass or two of local rice wine or homemade hibiscus tea.

Following lunch, your'll return to hotel for a short rest.

In the evening, start a culinary journey with sunset over Sayan Valley.  Sip a cocktail and enjoy Asian/Latin fusion tapas while the cicadas are chirping in the background. With the evening progressing, take a short ride to Ubud centre stop at Saraswati Palace to watch a traditional dance at the beautiful candle-lit lotus pond.

Continue to the fine dining restaurant over the Campuhan river then choose from several main dishes Celebrate the end of this evening with a tasting session of sweet delicacies.

Choose to head back to the hotel or remain in the area of Ubud for additional drinks.

Day 8: Ubud

Breakfast at the hotel.

Start today with an escape from the tourist center to Kintamani .  Here, you'll find cooler temperatures of the Bali Mountain region than you experienced yesterday, so do layer and bring a light jacket.

Using mountain bikes and safety equipment, the downhill trail from Pludu village will lead you through sleepy villages along little-used roads and tracks. Frequent stops are made along the way giving you the opportunity to view aged temple compounds and shady plantations bearing a variety of crops.

A simple lunch will be provided at a local restaurant.

After lunch, you'll be transferred back to your hotel, with the rest of the day at leisure to explore the area around your hotel or enjoy some of the many amenities offered by the hotel. 

Day 9: Lombok

At specified time after an early breakfast, & checking out from hotel,  you will be met by your guide and transferred to Denpasar Airport for your flight to Lombok.

Upon arrival at Lombok Airport, you will be privately transferred to your hotel.

Once settled, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure and explore the area surrounding your hotel.  You will not be disappointed!!

Day 10: Lombok, Gili Islands

Set off this morning from Lombok for a full day trip to the Gili Islands. Transfer to Teluk Nara Jetty and board a speedboat.

Cruise away from Lombok to the sparsely inhabited three Gili Islands. Be surrounded by turquoise waters and breath-taking views as the boat makes its way toward Gili Meno, the least developed of the three Gili islands.

Go ashore and climb into a cidomo, a horse cart that is the main form of transportation on the island. Travel down the island’s laneways, passing small eateries and clusters of local houses. Enjoy the quiet rhythm of island life as the horse cart makes its way to a coconut farm. Stop to sample a refreshing drink and watch the farmers harvest fresh coconuts.

Continue to the island’s western shores, home to some of the best Gili snorkelling experiences. Grab a mask and snorkel and jump into the warm water to explore the colorful underwater world.  Swim above the impressive coral gardens, seeing schools of tropical fish and, with a bit of luck, sea turtles.

At noon continue by boat to Gili Air, where lunch is served at a relaxed beach front eatery with a strip of white sand beach and the beautiful blue ocean just in front. Relax on the beach, spending the afternoon chilling out and swimming in the clear waters.

Feeling relaxed and refreshed, travel back to Teluk Nara where a car is waiting.

On the return to the hotel, stop at Malimbu Hill to enjoy the spectacular views over the region. Take in the turquoise hues of the sea, the dramatic wave formations and small islands dotted out at sea.

After enjoying the view, resume the drive to the hotel, arriving late in the afternoon.

Day 11: Lombok

You will be picked up from your hotel and then drive to Sendang Gila Waterfall area, where we can enjoy the beautiful landscape of Lombok Island and also visit Lombok traditional houses called Bale Sasak.   As we hike, you'll have time to take pictures.

Depending on the time and how hungry you are, a quick stop for lunch, and then we'll continue hiking.   

You'll walk down around 20 minutes to reach Sendang Gile Waterfall while absorbing the breath-taking views along the way to our waterfall spot. The adventure will continue to Tiu Kelep Waterfall, about 20 minutes. In this waterfall you may spend your time with swimming and relaxing.

Day 12: Sanur

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Denpasar

Once arrived at Denpasar Airport you will be privately transferred to the hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 13: Sanur

Transfer to the nearby Petang village in the outskirts of Ubud. Upon arrival at the starting point of this leisurely cycling trip (mostly flat or downhill) the cycling guides will provide a safety briefing, describe the route and demonstrate how to use the bike’s gears and brakes.

Then set off on your 1.5 - 2 hour cycling adventure! Cruise through untouched rice terraces and villages dotted with traditional houses and temples. Stop to meet friendly locals, take photos of scenic spots and learn about the local culture. 

At the end you will arrive at a temple where you will receive a blessing by a traditional Balinese priest.

From here you are brought by car to a local restaurant for lunch.

Return to your hotel. 

Day 14: Sanur

In the afternoon, join a local guide for a magical night out in Bali. Depart from the hotel late this afternoon and transfer to the seaside temple of Pura Tanah Lot.

Arrive just before sunset and find a quiet place to sit and contemplate the beauty of this sacred site. Your guide will explain the seven sea temples of Bali and the history of 16th-century Tanah Lot. Then watch as the sun begins to set, casting beautiful colors upon the temple and the sea.

Following this mystical sunset, it is time for dinner. Head to Tugu Bali for a dining experience like no other. Step into a hall filled with a vibrant mélange of exotic antiques, Indonesian art, textiles and more. Be seated at a table for a traditional Tugudom dinner, enjoying a lavish selection of imperial dishes from the Majapahit Palace era as well as authentic coastal cuisine. While savouring these exotic flavours, witness an incredible spectacle of theatre reflecting the royal parades of the King of Majapahit and his entourage.

Having indulged the senses in the sights, sounds and tastes of Bali, return to the hotel for the evening.

  2. Take a leisurely stroll along the Sanur Promenade.
  3. Visit the Le Mayeur Museum to view Balinese art.
  4. Go on a cycling tour to discover the surrounding countryside.
  5. Take a boat ride to Serangan Island for water sports and turtle conservation.
  6. Enjoy traditional Balinese cuisine at local restaurants.
  7. Visit Pura Blanjong, an ancient Hindu temple with historical significance.
  8. Take a yoga class or indulge in spa treatments for relaxation.
  9. Explore the Mangrove Forest to spot diverse wildlife.
  10. Take a sunrise or sunset boat tour to enjoy breathtaking views.

   

Day 16: End of Itinerary

Breakfast at hotel. At specified time after checking out from hotel you will be transferred to Denpasar Airport for your flight onward.
