Meet & greet in Antananarivo International Airport. Your driver will drive you to Relais des Plateaux hotel, a charming boutique hotel 10mn away from the Airport. Tomorrow you will fly in a light plane to Fianarantsoa (Every mondays).
Back to Ivato airport, you fly for 45mn to Fianarantsoa. This newly opened airline saves you 9 hours of solid driving! After landing in Fianarantsoa, the 4x4 car drive you to the Tsaranoro Valley (3 hours). Tsara camp is in the middle of the valley, surrounded by Tsaranoro mount, Mount Chameleon, and the beginning of Andringitra mountain range. You can already feel your adventure is about to start with the clouds far away, giving you the direction of the mysterious pic Boby: 2nd summit of Madagascar!
After a generous breakfast in Tsara Camp, you will start the trekking tour to Anfanifotsy village. This village is the entry point to Andringitra National Park, where the Pic Boby lies. After 13km and 8 hours walking, you can rest and envoy the views from the village.
2nd day of your trekking tour: Anfanifotsy village to Andriampotsy camp. Count 8 hours again for 9km. The level difference is growing and the temperatures are dropping.
Your 3rd day inside Andringitra national park is about to become legendary! You will finally reach Pic Boby, the 2nd summit of Madagascar (2660m). The 1st (Maromokotro, in the North of the Island) is almost inaccessible, so you can be proud of you! From cap Andriampotsy to camp Antaranaomby: 9 hours and 10km.
Last day inside the National Park, it is time to go back to the friendly Tsaranoro valley. After 3 hour walk (7km), you will be back in Tsara Camp where more comfort is welcomed! Enjoy a relaxing afternoon with the outstanding views on Tsaranoro, Chameleon, and the now far away Andringitra massive.
To end your tour, we offer you a quick detour in one of the most beautiful National Park in Madagascar: Ranomafana. The scenery will completely change after Fianarantsoa. you will be heading the East Coast of Madagascar: Green & lush. Ranomafana is a tropical wet forest full of wildlife: Lemurs, frogs, reptiles... A great time after your expedition in the dry mountains of granite. You will leave Tsara Camp early in the morning to be at lunch time in Ranomafana (5 hours). The exploration will start with a briefing on forest biodiversity inside the worldwide famous VALBIO scientific center. This will be the right introduction to the species living in the forest, those you are about to see the next day!
Visit the National Park with hikes from 2 to 5 hours depending on your interest. Early walk is recommended to see the lemurs, more active in the morning. In the afternoon and after lunch, you can visit the village. To end you nature tour, your guide will meet you at the end of the afternoon for a night walk to see nocturnal species.
Early departure heading to Fianarantsoa airport (2 hours). Take off at 11.00am. the flight stops in Manakara so the total length is 2 hours. Depending on your international flight schedule, the driver in Antananarivo will bring you to Relais des Plateaux Hotel for a day room, or assist you from Domestic to International terminals.
