Day 4: Kruger National Park

Wed. 29 Oct 2025

A typical day at Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge begins early with a wake-up call around 5:00 AM, as guests prepare for a thrilling day of safari adventure. After a light breakfast, the first game drive of the day departs at dawn, just as the African bush comes alive. This early morning game drive provides the best opportunity to spot wildlife, including the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino—as they are more active during the cooler morning hours. The drive lasts about three to four hours, with a stop for a refreshing coffee or tea in the bush, allowing guests to take in the peaceful surroundings.

Upon returning to the lodge, guests are treated to a hearty brunch served in the dining area or around the boma, where they can relax and reflect on the morning’s wildlife sightings. Afterward, there is some free time to unwind—whether by lounging at the pool, enjoying a spa treatment, or simply soaking in the tranquil atmosphere of the lodge. The spacious suites are perfect for relaxing, with private decks offering stunning views of the surrounding bush.

In the afternoon, after a light lunch, guests can relax in the peaceful setting before heading out for the evening game drive. This drive usually starts around 4:00 PM and provides another opportunity to witness wildlife in the late afternoon and early evening, often including predator sightings as animals prepare for the night. Guests are also treated to a sundowner stop, where they can enjoy drinks while taking in the breathtaking views of the bush at sunset.

After the game drive, guests return to the lodge for a delicious dinner, typically served in the boma under the stars or in the dining area, depending on the weather. The evening is a time for guests to share stories of their safari experiences around the fire, and they can unwind with drinks before retiring to their suites for a restful night’s sleep, ready for the next day's adventure.
