Day 1

Cape Town

Day notes

Met on arrival by and private road transfer to Cape Grace.

Arrival at the hotel for check-in and shown to your accomodation

The day is at leisure for you to rest and adjust to the time difference after your flight.

Perhaps enjoy dinner at the Signal restaurant which offers creative Cape cuisine that's fresh and inventive. Led by Executive Chef, Malika van Reenen, Signal Restaurant draws on influences from the many nationalities and customs that have shaped this region since being settled in 1652; namely Dutch and British settlers, French Huguenots, Asian traders and African cultures.

Another option would be to unwind at the Bascule whiskey and wine bar voted Best Bar Service and Best Pub Style in the August 2009 V&A Restaurant Awards.
Visit the Bascule Bar for a slice of Cape Town's social energy. This Cape Town whisky and wine bar looks over the calm water of a private V&A Waterfront marina. Full of gleaming yachts, it sets the scene for a relaxed gathering of Cape Town locals and international guests.

Day 13

Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Day notes

Local guide will collect you after breakfast and you will be escorted for a 25 minute Helicopter flight over the falls called “The Flight of Angels” followed by a guided tour of the Falls.

•To put the Victoria Falls into true perspective, they must really be seen from the air. The sheer size and grandeur of the spectacle becomes all the more clear from above. The huge Zambezi River flowing slowly south with hippos and crocodiles clearly visible in the shallow waters, elephant quietly browsing on bright green islands as the water spreads across the full width of a great rent in the earth before crashing over the lip in a burst of spray and then squeezing into a narrow, foaming, blast of water rushing down the zigzag funnel of the gorges.

•The Victoria Falls is one of the Natural Wonders of the World .Of the seven main cataracts, six of them are on the Zimbabwe side. The Eastern Cataract, on the Zambian side, can dry up between September and November, so to see the Falls in their splendour it is usually best to stay on the Zimbabwe side.

•From bank to bank of the Zambezi the total width of the falls is 1 mile (1.7 km.). The height of the various cataracts varies from 327 to 380 feet (100m to 116m).
•In May, the peak of the flood season, the six main cataracts, Devil’s Cataract, Main Falls,
Horseshoe Falls, Rainbow Falls, Armchair Falls and the Eastern Cataract, form the largest curtain of falling water in the world.

•The tour takes about one hour and much of the time you are in the rain forest. Protective clothing from the wet spray is provided.

•A feature of the Falls is that, unlike some others e.g. Niagara there is almost no commercialization so that the Falls are very much the same as when first gazed on by man---Dr. Livingstone in 1855---and which prompted his famous letter “ no one can imagine the beauty of the view from anything witnessed
in England. It had never been scene before by European eyes; but scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight.”
