Day 1: Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park

Touch down at King Shaka International Airport, where you will be met for your road transfer to Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, roughly 3 hours in duration. On arrival, check in, get comfortable, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee before heading out on your first afternoon game drive (time permitting) to begin your search for Africa’s wildlife, including the Big 5.

 

Activities and Services

Day 2: Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park

Wake up before dawn for the morning game drive, starting at sunrise. Savour a hot coffee and an early-morning snack before boarding the safari vehicle and departing the lodge in search of animals. Spend 3 hours traversing the bush and looking out for wildlife before they retreat to the shelter of a tree in the heat of the day.

After returning to the lodge for a delectable hot breakfast, you’ll have time to relax and unwind, surrounded by serene African wilderness. Lounge at the pool, delve into a captivating book, have a blissful nap, or simply soak up the sights, sounds and scents of nature.

Afternoon tea is served before your next game drive, departing around 3:30 - 4:30 PM, depending on the time of year. Enjoy a sundowner stop in the bush, returning to the lodge with a spotlight to catch sight of nocturnal animals. Dinner is served before you settle in for the night to the symphony of the wild.

Day 3: St Lucia

Head out on a final morning game drive in search of the last remaining animals that have eluded you. Following a delicious breakfast, depart the lodge by road transfer to the Sandpiper Guesthouse in St Lucia, a 1.5-hour journey. 

Boat cruises on the St Lucia Estuary are available to book at the guest house, an opportunity to get up close and personal with hippos, crocs and over 500 bird species.

Activities and Services

Day 4: End of Itinerary

Wake up to the gorgeous gardens of the Sandpiper and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. 

After checking out of your accommodation, you will be collected for your road transfer back to King Shaka International Airport in Durban, where your journey draws to an end.  

Driving time is +- 1 hour and 40 minutes.
