Sample Zimbabwe Water & Wilderness (Premier)

Days 1 - 3: Southern Hwange National Park

3 nights Hwange National Park, Fully Inclusive

Today, after breakfast, you are transferred to the airstrip for your charter flight to Hwange National Park. On arrival you are met and transferred by 4×4 vehicle to Somalisa Camp.

Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s premier game park. Hwange is big game country with massive herds of elephants, especially visible at the end of the dry season in September, as well as lion, buffalo, hyena, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest sable, roan and other antelope. Game-viewing in Hwange is made easier by the shallow salt pans throughout the park. These natural salt pans offer the perfect cooling mud bath for elephants. Here you take part in early morning and late afternoon game drives in open 4×4 vehicles and game walks.

Somalisa Camp is set in the heart of Hwange National Park, and is known as the land of the giants for its big elephant herds. Nestled in a stunning location tucked away on an acacia island along the edge of an ancient seasonal flood plain, Somalisa Camp provides guests with views of the savannah plains across the famous Kennedy Vlei.

Activities include guided walks lead by qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you, 4×4 game drives as well as night drives. Wildlife sightings include elephant, kudu, sable antelope, zebra, wildebeest, gemsbok, the rare and endangered roan antelope, buffalo, giraffe, white rhino, lion, leopard, hyena, and many other wildlife species.

Days 4 - 6: Mana Pools National Park

3 nights Mana Pools, Full Board & Game activities

Today, after breakfast, you are transferred to the airstrip for your charter flight to Mana Pools.

Mana Pools National Park offers a stunning water and wildlife experience. The focal point is the magical Zambezi River and its islands, the surrounding flood plains and gorgeous forests of mahogany, wild fig and ebony trees. Its known for its large numbers of elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, and eland that concentrate along the river when the inland waterholes dry up – especially in the winter months. However it’s the pervasive overwhelming sense of wilderness which is as much of an attraction of Mana Pools as its wildlife. Enjoy game viewing by vehicle, on foot, by boat and by canoe.

Set in one of the wildest and most remote parts of Africa, on the banks of one of the oldest rivers in the world, Nyamatusi Camp allows guests to experience an authentic view of the old untouched Africa. Inspired by the traditional custodians of the land who worshipped the river of life, the design of the camp subtly incorporates the element of water and pays homage to the astounding beauty of the mighty Zambezi River.
