This quick ride to the top of the mountain affords beautiful views over the city & ocean, as the Cable Car rotates & rises, feel yourself lift into the heavens above the Mother City. (Weather permitting)

After about an hour absorbing the views from the top of the mountain return to the city & enjoy some time strolling through Company Gardens, a garden for ships & locals from the mid-17th Century to gather fresh produce, St George’s mall & cathedral, the Cape Malay Quarter, Houses of Parliament as well as some of the museums & galleries. As you wonder through the city, absorbing the architecture & fascinating history, pick & choose at some of the cities flower, craft & traditional food markets.

Just for the littlies, visit the Two Oceans Aquarium show-casing the diverse marine life found in the waters around us. The Aquarium is perfect for the children as there are many up-close encounters, touch and feel exhibits and other show cases designed especially for them.

Day 3: Cape Town

Depart Cape Town along the Atlantic Seaboard through some of Cape Town’s beautiful seaside towns such as Sea Point, Camps Bay & Clifton. Magnificent photo opportunities arise as you pass by Llandudno through to Hout Bay; a small fishing town snugged into a bay of Rocky Mountains. Drive around the bay & through to Chapman’s Peak, one of the country’s most spectacular coastal sites as the sheer cliffs of the mountain meet the ocean. Further around the mountain as if appearing from no-where the longest beach in the Cape appears in front of you with spectacular views of these sandy shores.

We realise that activities are very much dependent on the age of the children; we therefore have a few options of which you can choose between as a morning activity. These activities include a boat ride in Hout Bay, a quaint fishing village near Chapman’s Peak, allowing the children some time out on the ocean and spectacular views of the cliffs from the ocean. Should your children be older, you may choose to rather take some kayaks out and do a paddle to Boulders beach where you can watch the African Penguins from the ocean side. This is great fun for the little ones. Lunch will be enjoyed en-route during the day.

Enjoy one of the following afternoon activities as a family; a visit to the Ostrich farm where mom can shop for ostrich leather goods and kids can visit the ostrich family as well as learn about the enormous birds.

South Africa contains nearly 10% of all known species of birds, fish and plants registered in the world and 6% of mammal and reptile species. Choose to visit either the reptile & snake park to see a few of these species, or The world of birds where children can learn about many different bird species that they might not see back home.
