The aim of the day is to explore the highlights of the Cape Peninsula, looking for any excuse to explore the wild peninsula beaches and embrace one of the most unique marine habitats in the world. We’ll do this a little differently than the usual quick zip past the crowded tourist spots, and instead take a series of short hikes to get the best of this beautiful region.

Activities

  • Explore - Side Cars along the Atlantic Seaboard
  • Explore - Snorkelling with seals
  • Explore - Cape Town's most scenic road with all 144 curves of Chapman’s Peak Drive
  • Lunch - A Private Wild Peninsula Picnic
  • Explore with Penguins - Stand Up Paddle, Kayak or Conservation Walk near Boulders, Simon's Town
  • Helicopter Adventure - Cape Peninsula

Description

You have an exciting day of discoveries ahead of you today as you embrace the ocean and the coastline!

Today we are road-tripping along the Atlantic Seaboard, salty breezes and stunning views all the way. Leather jackets. Check. Tank helmets. Check. Climb into your vintage WWII sidecars for this stylishly retro experience, and we wind our way down to Hout Bay, our thrilling route passing trendy suburbs and exquisite beach locations.

Enlivened by the fresh air, we board our boat, heading out to the island and keeping an eye out for dolphin pods, whales and abundant birdlife. Enter the water, for an unforgettable snorkeling experience, the seals surrounding us often mimicking our movements. We will interact with them in their safe environment before heading back to dry land.

We will continue our journey with a scenic drive along Chapmans Peak towards the Noordhoek Farm Village for a coffee before making our way over to Simonstown. We know a few little spots away from the crowds to get some beautiful images of this iconic landmark.

Enjoy a WOW factor set up in a quiet location of the Cape Peninsula where you can enjoy a delicious wild picnic lunch while testing out your SUPing skills and enjoying the beach toys. Fully kitted up with beach umbrellas, picnic blankets, stand up paddles, sports kits etc. in a scenic location with an opportunity to explore the crystal-clear rock pools.

From here, we will drive along the coast towards Simon’s Town, where we will search for our own rogue penguins – a splinter colony away from the crowded boardwalks over the main breeding site, on a beach known mostly to locals. Perhaps if the weather is favourable you could test out your balancing skills on a stand-up paddle board to really get to know the penguins in their own environment. (This is optional). Your guide will tell you more about the rich history surrounding this naval town, the museums and monuments provide plenty of insight into this historical harbour town.

From Boulders we will transfer you to Millers Point where your sleek helicopter will be waiting to pick you up for an exhilarating flight around Cape Point and back to the city for a birds eye view of this incredible coast line.

One thing that’s often overlooked during a fleeting visit is the variety of ways one may explore the area while learning about a range of wine producing techniques. In addition to all the beautiful and unique vineyards, the great outdoors awaits you with lots of exciting activities for you to partake in.

Activities

  • Bike - Vine Bike Franschhoek on Electric Bikes
  • Explore – Franschhoek, boutique shops, galleries & cafes
  • Local Lunch - Franschhoek
  • Wine Tasting - My Wyn Wine Estate
  • Wine Tasting - Muratie

Description

There is no better way to really immerse yourself in a destination, than to exit the vehicle and to explore the great outdoors. The winelands offer incredible scenic valleys, expansive vineyards and beautiful mountain ranges.

To get some fun exercise in during your indulgent day, why not hop on an electronic Vine Bike and spend the morning weaving through the vineyards on this alternative mode of transport. During your cycle we will visit 2 wine estates to enjoy a cellar tour of an award winning wine estate along the way before continuing in to the town of Franschhoek.  Here we will have the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of this tiny French inspired town and the significance that it has had in making the area as one of the world's leading wine regions.

Sit down to a lovely lunch at one of the many local restaurants in Franschhoek town, known as the French Corner of the Western Cape.

Visit one of the smaller, boutique and family-owned wine estates for a more intimate wine tasting. Jacoline Haasbroek from My Wyn Wine Estate in Franschhoek manages her own cellar and wine tasting in her home overlooking the Franschhoek Valley. My Wyn does not have its own vineyards but instead buys in grapes from the same suppliers each year and Jacoline makes her own wine. Jacoline has won an award as one of the top 3 blends for her My Wyn Cabernet Franc 2015. Sit on her veranda and enjoy a personal wine tasting and great hospitality with Jacoline, afterwards there is the option of taking a walk to the nearby waterfall on her farm.

Time allowing, wind down the day as we indulge in another wine tasting at Muratie Wine Estate. Muratie's rich history is captured in every nook and cranny. Wherever you are on the estate you cannot help being moved by a sense of the many generations that have Lived and worked on this estate.
