DAY 1: From Broome to Fitzroy Crossing (Approximately 400 km)
Start from Broome, a dynamic coastal town renowned for its beautiful beaches, including the famous Cable Beach, known for its breathtaking sunsets. Then head east towards Fitzroy Crossing. This 400 km journey will take you through picturesque landscapes and ancestral lands. Upon arrival at Fitzroy Crossing, located on the banks of one of Australia’s largest rivers, the Fitzroy River, you can discover the rich indigenous culture of the Bunuba and Gooniyandi communities. Enjoy a river cruise in Geikie Gorge National Park to admire the gorges sculpted by the river (optional, not included). You will stay overnight at Fitzroy River Lodge in a comfortable motel room.

DAY 2: From Fitzroy Crossing to Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge (Approximately 265 km)
Take the famous Gibb River Road from Fitzroy Crossing, an adventure route through some of Australia's wildest landscapes. On the way, explore Tunnel Creek, where you can discover an underground tunnel carved by waters and the history of Jandamarra, an Aboriginal warrior. Continue to Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge, near the Imintji Aboriginal community. The lodge, with its tents including breakfast and dinner, offers a spectacular view of the King Leopold escarpment. Enjoy the afternoon relaxing or exploring the surroundings, including Bell Gorge with its magnificent waterfall and natural pools perfect for swimming.
From Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge to Mount Elizabeth Station (Approximately 120 km)
Leave Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge and continue on Gibb River Road towards Mount Elizabeth Station. Along the way, explore spectacular gorges like Bells Creek, Galvans, Manning, and Adcock. Upon arrival at Mount Elizabeth Station, an active cattle station with 6000 heads of cattle, you will stay in a room near the homestead with breakfast and dinner included. Discover the daily life of a cattle station and explore remote gorges accessible only from the property. The owners, a family running the ranch for over 30 years, will share their knowledge and stories of this isolated region of the Australian outback.
From Mount Elizabeth Station to El Questro Station (Approximately 301 km)
Continue your adventure on Gibb River Road to El Questro Wilderness Park, an iconic destination spanning over a million acres. On the way, visit Emma and Chamberlain Gorges, known for their natural pools and stunning landscapes. You can enjoy various activities (optional, not included) such as guided hikes, boat cruises on Chamberlain Gorge, and thermal baths at Zebedee Springs. In the evening, savor a dinner under the stars in this spectacular setting (dinner not included).
From El Questro Station to Purnululu National Park Safari Camp (Approximately 393 km)
Leave El Questro and continue to Purnululu National Park, famous for the Bungle Bungles rock formations. On the way, stop at Warmun (Turkey Creek) to discover the art and culture of the Gija community. Upon arrival at the Purnululu National Park safari camp, you will be accommodated in a standard tent with breakfast and dinner included. Explore the black and orange striped domes, shaped by millions of years of erosion, and discover the local flora and fauna through guided hikes.

Take this day to explore Purnululu National Park at your own pace. Hike to Cathedral and Echidna Gorges, or take a scenic flight (not included) to admire the rock formations from the air. The safari camp offers amenities for a comfortable stay while being immersed in the wilderness. At night, gaze at the starry desert sky, an unforgettable spectacle in this remote location.
From Purnululu National Park to Kununurra (Approximately 310 km)
Head back towards Kununurra, the administrative center of East Kimberley. Along the way, admire the changing landscapes and spectacular rock formations. Kununurra is a vibrant town offering many activities (not included), such as river cruises on the Ord River, visiting Lake Argyle Dam, and exploring the region’s sandalwood farm. You will stay overnight at Freshwater Apartments in a comfortable studio, providing an ideal base for exploring the area.

Today, explore Kununurra and its surroundings at your own pace. Take a scenic flight (not included) over the Bungle Bungles or Lake Argyle for a breathtaking view of these natural wonders. Visit the Hoochery Distillery, Australia’s oldest rum distillery, or explore the botanical gardens of Mirima National Park (Hidden Valley). In the evening, enjoy a dinner (not included) at one of the local restaurants, savoring dishes prepared with fresh local produce.
From Kununurra to Katherine (Approximately 510 km)
Leave Kununurra and head towards Katherine, passing through Gregory National Park. This park, with its 10,500 square kilometers of mountains, gorges, and sandstone escarpments, offers breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. In Katherine, explore the famous Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) in a canoe or on a cruise (not included). Katherine is also known for its natural hot springs on the outskirts of the town, where you can relax after a day on the road. You will stay at Contour Hotel in a standard room.
From Katherine to Kakadu National Park (Approximately 300 km)
Visit Katherine Gorge before heading to Kakadu National Park. This World Heritage-listed park is known for its spectacular landscapes, internationally important wetlands, and rich Aboriginal culture. Explore ancient rock art sites at Ubirr and Nourlangie, and enjoy cruises on Yellow Water to observe crocodiles and exotic birds. You will stay overnight at Anbinik Kakadu Resort in Jabiru.
From Kakadu National Park to Darwin (Approximately 257 km)
Depart from Jabiru towards Darwin. About 120 km away, you can participate in a Jumping Crocodile cruise (not included), allowing you to see the formidable saltwater crocodiles up close as they jump out of the water to catch meat. Continue your journey to Windows on the Wetlands, located about 60 km from Darwin (optional, not included). This interpretive center offers a panoramic view of the wetlands of the Mary River region. Interactive exhibits provide an insight into the local ecosystems and the cultural significance of the wetlands for indigenous peoples.
Finally, arrive in Darwin, the tropical capital of the Northern Territory. Explore the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (free entry) for an immersion into the natural and cultural history of the region, including collections of contemporary Aboriginal art. Don’t miss the Mindil Beach Markets, where you can enjoy international cuisine while enjoying live performances and beautiful sunsets on the beach (every Thursday and Sunday from 4 PM to 9 PM, from the last week of April to the last week of October).
The Darwin Waterfront, recently renovated, is another highlight with its cafes, restaurants, and its artificial lagoon where swimming is possible.
