Upon arrival at the Lusaka airport, you will board a flight to South
Luangwa National Park, where you will be welcomed and
transferred to the Camp which is located in the heart of the
Luangwa Valley then head out for your first evening game drive
completed with sundowners in the bush as the sun sets.
Today starts with you heading out for an early morning walking
safari then later in the day, spend some time on your Verandah and
catch a glance of the animals that come for a drink at the river or
head out for another evening game drive to explore the park even
further.
Start your day with a morning game drive, exploring the park with a seasoned guide as the wilderness wakes up. This is the best time to witness predators finishing their night’s hunt and herbivores emerging to graze in the golden light.
In the afternoon, take a break from the safari and visit Kawaza Village, a local community near Flatdogs Camp. This immersive experience offers a deeper understanding of Zambian culture and daily life.
You'll have the opportunity to meet villagers, visit a local school (if in session), and see firsthand how traditional homes are built. Engage in meaningful conversations, learn about customs and traditions, and even take part in activities like traditional cooking or drumming. It’s a chance to step beyond the safari and connect with the people who call this land home.

Game Drive
Experience an all-day authentic Zambian safari and explore more of the South Luangwa National Park. Start off early in the morning at 06.00am and have the whole day to explore miles of wilderness known for its scenic landscapes and diversity of wildlife. At a shady picnic spot you will have a bush brunch at the heart of the day. After some time to relax we will head off again to discover more of the unspoiled Zambian bush only to return to the lodge at 18.00pm
Full Day Safari
The Luangwa Valley is one of the few places in Africa where it is possible to do a walking safari. Today, you will go on a walking safari with a qualified and experienced safari guide accompanied by an armed scout for your safety, the guide will bring you in direct contact with all the park has to offer. Not only to see the African eco system, but also to smell, feel, touch and hear the African wilderness. A walking safari is a perfect opportunity to experience that ‘up close and personal feeling’.
for the afternoon, visit Katemo school, It is in a remote area about a 1 hour drive from the camp. The school is 100 years old and the oldest school in the area. Most of the pupils are children from the local farming community, Teachers are living on site in the teacher houses provided. The camp supports the school to improve education and school facilities . Visit the school, meet the head teacher, interact with the students and experience daily school life at a rural school in Zambia.
