Travel through the dramatic sandstone cliffs and river crossings of Meiringspoort, with a chance to visit the beautiful waterfall tucked within the gorge. Explore the artistic charm and historical character of Prince Albert, then ascend the iconic Swartberg Pass — a gravel masterpiece offering sweeping mountain views and geological wonders. End your journey with a hearty, traditional Karoo meal at Kobus se Gat, nestled beneath the Swartberg Mountains.

Today’s journey is all about slowing down, tuning in, and experiencing the magic of the animal kingdom with care, curiosity, and deep respect.

We begin before sunrise, venturing out into the soft stillness of the morning for a once-in-a-lifetime experience: a Meerkat Safari ! As the sky gently brightens, we settle quietly in the veld, waiting patiently for these wild, free-roaming meerkats to rise with the sun. Watching them emerge, stretch, and begin their day is nothing short of humbling—a rare glimpse into their world, guided by experts who care deeply about their welfare and habitat.

After a hearty breakfast, the journey continues to the Ostrich Farm, where we learn about the remarkable history and biology of these fascinating birds. This is not just a farm tour—it's a chance to better understand the role of ostriches in the region and the ongoing efforts to treat them with care and dignity. Here, education goes hand-in-hand with conservation, and every visit helps support responsible animal management.

In the golden light of the late afternoon, we make our way to the peaceful surrounds of Buffelsdrift Game Lodge, where we’ll observe the resident elephants in their semi-wild habitat. These gentle giants are ambassadors for their species—each one with a story of rescue and refuge. Watching them up close, from a respectful distance, offers a powerful moment of connection. It’s a chance to reflect on the intelligence, emotional depth, and majesty of one of Africa’s most iconic animals.

Afterbreakfast, we set off toward Knysna — a true gem along the legendary Garden Route. Today’s journey invites you to slow down, take in the scenery, and embrace the quiet beauty of the road less traveled.

Our preferred route winds through the charming Montagu Pass, one of the oldest unaltered mountain passes in South Africa. Along the way, we'll stop at the historic Old Toll House, where warm pancakes and freshly brewed coffee offer a comforting break in the heart of the mountains.

For those looking to stretch their legs and connect with the surroundings, the Biblical Trail offers a peaceful and reflective walk — whether you’re in search of solitude, spiritual inspiration, or simply the grounding calm of nature.

Should Montagu Pass be closed due to routine maintenance, we’ll option for the equally scenic Hoekwil Hoopla Pass, ensuring the journey remains just as captivating.

Before reaching Knysna, we’ll make time to pause at the lesser-known but truly breathtaking Map of Africa viewpoint — a natural formation that resembles the shape of the continent, carved by time and the flow of rivers. It’s a quiet reminder of nature’s artistry and a perfect way to round off a day of gentle exploration.

This afternoon, the water calls. We step aboard for a scenic lagoon cruise, gliding across the shimmering Knysna Lagoon. Drift past secret coves and oyster beds, learning about the rich marine life and history of this legendary estuary. As we approach the Knysna Heads from the water, a new perspective unfolds — bold cliffs guarding the gateway between lagoon and sea.

Weather and tides permitting, our voyage gently continues into the Indian Ocean, where the horizon stretches endlessly and salty air lifts the soul. With the wind in your hair and the sound of water beneath you, this journey captures the magic of Knysna — tranquil, wild, and endlessly inspiring.

Today we get to understand the true meaning and purpose of conservation, whilst enjoying the observation of Predators, Primates and Birds. The discovery is combined with one of the most special and beautiful areas in the Western Cape, The Crags.  A day full of experiential observations, but also filling the cup of the heart. We combine explore Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary, Birds of Eden, and Monkeyland......the latter being a great treat watching out for any tricks being pulled on us!

Today invites us into the heart of The Crags, one of the Western Cape’s most beautiful and biodiverse regions — but more than that, it’s a journey into the soul of conservation.

We begin by exploring three extraordinary sanctuaries: Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary, Birds of Eden, and Monkeyland. Each is a testament to the tireless efforts of those who have dedicated their lives to the protection, rehabilitation, and respectful care of animals who once knew hardship or captivity. Here, conservation comes alive — not in theory, but through meaningful, compassionate action.

At Jukani, we meet rescued predators now living in safety, offering a rare opportunity to observe them without exploitation. In Birds of Eden, the world’s largest free-flight aviary, vibrant feathers flash through the trees as birds soar through a space designed entirely for their freedom. And at Monkeyland, laughter comes easy as these clever, curious primates swing freely through the forest canopy — though you'll want to watch your belongings; a cheeky trick or two might be in store!

It’s a day filled with awe, education, and profound gratitude — for the people who protect, the creatures who teach us, and the wild beauty that connects us all. More than a visit, this is an experience that fills the heart and leaves a lasting impression of what true care for our planet looks like.

Today, we enter the soul of the Tsitsikamma Forest — one of South Africa’s most majestic natural treasures. Towering ancient trees, dense canopies, and the hush of nature’s rhythm surround us in a place where time seems to slow and the spirit is invited to simply be. There is a quiet power here — one that humbles and heals, reminding us of the strength and serenity that only nature can offer.

Our journey begins high above the forest floor on a treetop canopy tour, gliding between ancient giants and experiencing the forest from a bird’s-eye view. Later, we venture deeper — by kayak, through the narrow gorges and still waters of the Tsitsikamma rivers, and on foot, along rugged coastal paths and forest trails within the Tsitsikamma National Park.

Each step, paddle, and breath is a moment of connection — to land, to water, and to something greater than ourselves. These experiences aren’t just about adventure; they’re about appreciation. Nature, in all her grandeur, offers this day as a gift. All we need to do is embrace it.

As we journey onward, we’ll stop to take in the dramatic views from the Paul Sauer Bridge, a feat of engineering that spans the breathtaking Storms River Gorge. It’s the kind of stop that makes you pause — camera in hand, heart a little fuller.

Further along, we’ll break at the beloved Oudebosch Farmstall, a local treasure where warm roosterkoek and a fresh cup of tea or coffee offer the perfect mix of comfort and South African flavour. It’s not just a travel day — it’s a day of discovery, great views, and those little moments that make the journey unforgettable.

After a few adventure-filled days, it’s time to slow down and soak up the coastal charm of Cape St Francis — a peaceful stretch of paradise where golden beaches meet gentle waves and sunny skies seem to go on forever.

Known as a water sport haven, the area offers everything from surfing and kiteboarding to canoeing and paddling along the nearby Kromme River — but today is all about enjoying this beautiful setting at your own pace. Whether you're teeing off at the acclaimed St Francis Links for a round of world-class golf or simply strolling along the beach with the sea breeze in your hair, the day is yours to savour.

We'll begin (early or later, depending on your mood) with a relaxed nature walk through the unspoiled surroundings, discovering the unique beauty and biodiversity of this coastal haven. Later, we head into the quaint village of St Francis Bay, with its charming canals, thatched architecture, and relaxed atmosphere. From here, we’ll board a canal cruise, gliding past beautiful homes and lush gardens — the perfect way to unwind and take in the scenery.

Whether you're here for the soft sand, the fresh sea air, or the slower rhythm of life, today is all about balance: gentle exploration, quiet beauty, and doing only as much (or as little) as you please.

As our unforgettable journey begins to wind down, we’ve saved something truly special for last — a luxurious stay just moments from the magnificent Addo Elephant National Park. Upon arrival, a delicious welcome lunch awaits, setting the tone for the tranquil experience ahead. After settling into your room, it’s time to get ready for an afternoon safari, where the golden light of the late day brings the landscape — and its wild residents — to life in breathtaking ways.

The next morning, we greet the day with another safari adventure, watching as the bush stirs awake in the soft morning light — a truly magical time in nature. This afternoon, take time to unwind with a soothing spa treatment, or simply relax and enjoy the lodge’s serene surroundings and inviting facilities.

This final stay is all about rest, reflection, and quiet wonder — a perfect, soul-soothing way to bring your journey to a close.
