As soon as you land at Victoria Falls Airport, you will be able to hear Mosi-oa-Tunya - the smoke that thunders. This is the local name for this thunderously impressive wall of water. The sound of which, at high-water seasons, can be heard 40kms away. The spray itself can be seen for nearly 50kms. You will be met and whisked away to your hotel. Settle in and, as you have the rest of the day at leisure, you can relax on the deck, enjoy sundowners, a colonial-era tradition. In the evening you may decide to step back in time and enjoy dinner on a classic steam train in the middle of the Victoria Falls Bridge.

Thanks to the billows of spray that leap heavenwards from the huge amount of water that pours over the edge of the Falls, there is an entire eco-system, a rain forest with unique plant life and wildlife, that exists nowhere else in the area. And this morning, an experienced, local guide is the perfect way to discover the majesty that is Victoria Falls. After your exploration of the Falls, a visit to the local arts and crafts market is the perfect way to browse and purchase a memento of this amazing day. You could also ‘fly with angels’ and see the falls from above! The Zambezi River which feeds the Falls has its own power and grandeur. In its deep, and seemingly slow-moving waters, and along its banks is another world entirely. A mellow, afternoon, sundowner cruise is the best way to immerse yourself in the river’s wildlife, birds and stunning sunsets. Later, back at your hotel, you can enjoy an evening of relaxation, lulled to sleep by the heartbeat of the Falls.

Each will bring you face-to-face with spectacular African wildlife. It’s an adventure you’ll never forget. Renowned for its wildlife, Chobe is the best place to roam with prides of lion, herds of antelope, buffalo and elephant. The skies around the river are alive with birds. The haunting cry of the African Fish Eagle sets the scene. A myriad of herons, waders and the African skimmer show off their varied fishing techniques among the crocodiles and pods of hippos that vie for supremacy in the wide river.
