8 DAY ZAMBIA, CAPE TOWN & GREATER KRUGER WALKING ADVENTURE

DAY 1: ARRIVAL LUANGWA BUSH CAMP

On arrival at Mfuwe Airport, your driver will be waiting to transfer you to camp.  Ideally, you would spend the night at a camp not too far off so that you can get up at sunrise and then take a morning walk as a morning activity to the first bush camp. Situated in a secluded area of the Nsefu sector the camp is simple and “bush”. Arriving in time for a leisurely lunch followed by a siesta and an afternoon walk will follow tea and then back to camp for sundowners and dinner around the campfire.

DAY 2: SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

The day is spent walking in the game-rich area of the Luangwa riverine habitat, with ebony groves, many lagoons, and of course the Luangwa River itself. During your morning walk, the camp will be moved to a second site and lunch will be waiting for you on arrival, alternatively, you and your guide may decide to have a picnic lunch en route. This is a very flexible day and your guide will discuss options to suit you and any other guests.

DAY 3: ZAMBIA TO CAPE TOWN 

Following a relaxed breakfast, you will walk out of camp and head towards your next lodging, stopping for tea and cake along the way and arriving in time for lunch. 

You will take a flight from Zambia to Cape Town, on arrival you will be met and transferred to the hotel where you will be staying.

DAY 4 -5: CAPE TOWN

Spend the next few days in Cape Town at your own leisure. Popular tours such as a Cape Wine or Full-Day Cape Peninsula and Penguin Colony Tour can be arranged from the hotel activity desk.

See the spectacular sight of Cape Point's towering rock cliffs, the lighthouse which is situated 238m above sea level, over 250 species of birdlife, baboons, bucks, and the Cape Mountain Zebra. Explore the Cape of Good Hope, a world-renowned landmark, and monuments in honor of two of the world's most famous explorers - Vasco da Gama and Bartolomeu Dias.

DAY 6: CAPE TOWN TO GREATER KRUGER

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Cape Town airport for your flight to Kruger. On arrival, your driver will be waiting to transfer you to camp.

After lunch you depart for your afternoon safari, returning to camp in the early evening for dinner.

DAY 7: KLASERIE PRIVATE NATURE RESERVE

During summer, an early wake-up at 05h00 starts the day (while winter is later at 05h45). It gets very hot and guides like to bring guests back to camp before 9 am while it is still cool.

Walks take between 2 and 3 hours and are followed by a hearty breakfast at the dining table. Between 11h00 and 14h30 guests have time to themselves. Relax with a book, take a nap with the sounds of the local birdlife, have a dip in the pool, and catch a tan in the sun.

At 14h30 lunch is served, consisting of salads, cheese, cold meat, and a light quiche or pie. The game drive begins at 15h30 and traverses this exceptional area of the Klaserie.

At sunset, guides take their guests to a spot where they can snack on biltong, nuts, and chips while sipping on something cold. Return to the lodge by 19h30 and freshen up before dinner at about 08h30.

Your guide will escort you back to your room, where you will fall asleep to the sounds of the bushveld! 

DAY 8: DEPARTURE 

Enjoy one last morning activity, after breakfast, you will check out from camp for your transfer back to Skukuza Airport for your onwards travels.
