Arrival at Frankfurt Airport
Transfer on your own via uber or taxi to the Rheingau Region, Bingen (approx 45 mins)
YOUR HOTEL: Papa-Rhein Hotel & Spa in Bingen is a wonderful resort, a chic spa, a unique concept - and directly on the Rhine and Culture Waterside in Bingen.
The ferry to Rudesheim is right next to the hotel.
Our itinerary starts today! For those who will not be at the hotel by noon due to a later flight arrival time, we suggest coming in the day before. The cost of an extra night hotel cost would be 240 Euro per person based on double occupancy.
Noon (or ferry leaving closest to noon) we take a ferry across the Rhine from Bingen to Rüdesheim . This crossing should only take about max. 10 minutes. From the ferry terminal we either walk 30 minutes or take a taxi to the Winery Leitz - https://schatziwines.com/producer/leitz/ in Geisenheim.
Visit Winery Leitz, cellar tour, and enjoy a tasting of their non-alcoholic products.

DAY 2
Start your full-day tour to Rudesheim, on the other side of the Rhine. Meet your Rudesheim and Rheingau expert in the lobby. Cross to Rudesheim. FACT - Germany's upper middle Rhine Valley and Rudesheim have been part of the UNESCO'S World Heritage List since 2022.
Highlights: Drosselgasse, Niederrhein Monument (include cable car return ticket), Rhein Wein Welt

In the afternoon we visit CARL JUNG WINERY - https://www.carl-jung.de/ (1.5 hrs) Reception to the winery is found at Boosenburg Castle. We will have a guided tour of the winery with a visit to the vacuum de-alcoholization plant! Explanations and tastings of non-alcoholic sparkling wine, white and red wines will take place.
Background:
Carl Jung, a wine merchant from a Rheingau wine family, was inspired to develop a method for extracting alcohol from wine because he believed that wine could be enjoyed without alcohol.
Invention:
In 1908, Jung developed a method for gentle alcohol extraction, known as the vacuum extraction method, which preserves the bouquet and taste of the wine.
Pioneering Role:
The Carl Jung winery, founded by Jung, is considered a pioneer in the non-alcoholic wine industry.
Current Focus:
Today, the winery, located at Castle Boosenburg in Rudesheim am Rhein, focuses on producing non-alcoholic wines and sparkling wines.

DAY 3
Meet your full day local guide in the lobby.
We start our Rhine tour directly in Bingen and board a cruise ship that goes along the most picturesque route past numerous old castles and towns to St. Goarshausen.
Your bus picks you up in St Goarshausen and you travel along this side of the Rhine to Eberbach Abbey for a guided visit. Eberbach Abbey, or in German: Kloster Eberbach, is a former Cistercian monastery, located near Eltville at Rhine River. It is considered to be one of the most significant architectural heritage sites in Hesse due to its impressive Romanesque and early Gothic buildings.

Afternoon If time allows, short stop in Eltville
Eltville am Rhein, a special "pearl" of the Rheingau area is well known as "the city of wine, sparkling wine and roses". It is picturesquely situated amid forests, vineyards and the Rhine River. This very historical place is affected by its gently restored half-timbered houses and more than 100 different types of roses, which are grown and cultivated here.

After breakfast, we travel by bus to Heidelberg. It's a wine tasting day!
We have a bus but no local guide.
At approx 10:30 am we will stop in Duttweiler/Pfalz for a visit and tasting at BERGDOLT-REIFF & NETT WINERY - https://www.nett-weine.de/ (duration 2 hours)
Lunch at your own expense will be en route to winery # 2
At approx 3:30 pm we will stop in Herxheim Landau for a visit and tasting at MATTHIAS ANTON - https://weingut-anton.de/ (duration 2 hours).
We will arrive into Heidelberg at roughly 6:30 pm.

After breakfast, we have a half-day walking tour in Heidelberg's historic city center with a local guide including the funicular train, castle exterior, courtyard, great barrel, and pharmacy museum.
The name Heidelberg stands for the world-famous castle and picturesque old town in breathtakingly beautiful surroundings. The city of Heidelberg is known for Germany's oldest university, modern research facilities, historic streets and a lively university atmosphere.
