Upon your arrival, after passing through immigration and customs, please proceed to the exit of the airport terminal. There, you will find a travel representative waiting for you, holding a sign with your name on it.

In the early evening join your guide for an orientation briefing where you will have the opportunity to get an overview of the following day’s activities, ask questions to prepare for the trip.

Expert tips

When preparing to leave for your next destination please check that you are not leaving anything behind in your room, especially your passports or plug in chargers.

In your day pack carry your hat, sunblock, sunglasses, mosquito repellent and water bottle. Check with your guide to see if you need any particular footwear or a change of clothes for the day’s activities.

Day 2: Pacuare River

 Pacuare 3 Days / 2 Nights Package We will pick you up from your San Jose hotel on the first morning and take you to the river, stopping for breakfast along the way.
You will meet your certified rafting guides at the rafting put-in, get outfitted with all necessary equipment, and receive a comprehensive rafting safety talk, including paddling basics. 
On this first day, you will paddle easy Class 2 and 3 rapids and have a riverside picnic lunch before arriving at the Lodge.

Pacuare rainforest hike

You will enjoy easy to moderate hiking through Costa Rica’s spectacular rainforest with views of the Pacuare river, and close-up opportunities to examine the diversity of Costa Rica’s plants and wildlife. Bring your cameras, your binoculars, and a keen sense of wonder and exploration!!!

Day 4: Arenal Volcano National Park

On your third morning, raft out through the famous Pacuare Gorge. The experience is unforgettable as you raft exciting Class 3 and 4 rapids past cascading waterfalls and magnificent jungle. Watch for brightly colored tropical birds flying overhead and other exotic wildlife.
You’ll stop at a riverside beach for a picnic lunch. When you reach the take-out point, you will go to a place where you can shower and change clothes.

Day 5: Arenal Volcano National Park

Aerial Tram - Zipline Arenal Park

Another day of adventure, fun and adrenaline, so be ready to enjoy it to the fullest.

Today enjoy a half day thrilling zipline circuit. Start in an open-air gondola through the rain forest to an observation deck with spectacular views of the Forest Then zip through a system of cables - an exhilarating ride and an opportunity to enjoy the rain forest canopy with superb views. 

Highlights: Some of the best views of the area. Zipping in the rainforest canopy!

Stop for lunch on your own. 

Arenal Hanging Bridges

​​​The hanging gardens of the rainforest. Excellent birdwatching and wildlife sightings. Amazing lookouts to the volcano! 

Enjoy a half day tour at the Arenal Hanging Bridges. This 5 km/3 mile rainforest tour leads visitors across 10 hanging bridges in the canopy of the rainforest and boasts an incredible up-close-and-personal interaction with the flora and fauna found here.  Meander the trails and bridges with a keen eye on the lookout for monkeys, butterflies, and colorful birds.

Shared Manuel Antonio National Park Walk

Highlights: Learn about the park’s distinctive rainforest flora and wildlife with a naturalist. A paradise to find sloths and monkeys. Some of the best beaches in Costa Rica. Amazing lookouts!

Today includes a half day guided nature walk in Manuel Antonio National Park, one of the natural jewels of Costa Rica. Look for the abundant wildlife including monkeys and sloths and take in the views from scenic overlooks. Cap it off with time to enjoy the gorgeous beaches and warm pacific waters.
