The First Glimpse of Roraima
At dawn, the mighty tabletop mountain of Mount Roraima appears on the horizon. After breakfast, continue trekking through open savanna until you reach Base Camp (1,800 m), set dramatically at the foot of the tepui’s towering cliffs.
A first taste of the mountain’s grandeur.
The Ascent to the Summit
Today is the most demanding—and most rewarding—day of the expedition. The trail climbs steeply through misty jungle, passing exotic orchids and bromeliads, giant boulders, and the thundering Paso das Lágrimas waterfall.
Reaching the summit, you will be greeted by the three stone sentinels of Makunaima, guardians of the mountain. Welcome to the top of Roraima.
Valle de los Cristales & Coati Camp
Step into a prehistoric landscape as you explore the surreal Valle de los Cristales, sparkling with crystal fragments and strange rock formations. Tonight’s camp is the enchanting Coati Cave, tucked between massive rocks with a natural open hall looking out to the night sky.
Gladys Lake: The Portal of Legends
Today’s hike takes you to mystical Gladys Lake, one of the least explored places on the tepui. According to Indigenous legends, the lake is a portal to another dimension. With its otherworldly beauty, Mount Roraima feels like a true “Lost World,” inspiring awe and reflection on life itself.
Triple Point & El Foso
Journey towards Triple Point, where Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana meet—a place of great symbolic and geographical importance. Later, refresh yourself at El Foso, a magical natural pool that radiates pure energy and awakens the child within.
Maverick Summit & Natural Jacuzzis
Climb to the very top of Roraima at Maverick Summit (2,875 m), the highest point of the mountain. From here, gaze across the vast Gran Sabana and retrace with your eyes the trail that brought you to the top.
The day continues with a dip in the Natural Jacuzzi Pools and a visit to La Ventana, a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking Mount Kukenan, Salto Catedral, and Valle de los Cristales.
Descent Through Jungle & Savannah
It’s time to say farewell to the summit. A 7–8 hour trek leads you back down through lush cloud forest and across the vast savanna. Along the way, take short breaks to rest, enjoy the views, and reflect on the journey.
Crossing the river, a refreshing swim awaits as the perfect reward at the end of the trail.
Return to Pareitepuy & Back to Boa Vista
Trek back to Pareitepuy village, where a traditional lunch with the Pemón community offers a heartfelt farewell to the mountain. After lunch, transfer back to Boa Vista.
Farewell to the Lost World
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure. You leave with the unforgettable memories of having stood on top of the Lost World of Roraima, one of Earth’s most mystical and awe-inspiring places.
