ZAFIRO HIGH WATER SEASON 8DAYS/7NIGHTS

You’ll be picked up at the airport and taken to the DoubleTree by Hilton Iquitos for a delicious lunch. Afterward, you’ll be transferred by private vehicle to the main dock to board the cruise ship. Enjoy a cocktail made with local fruit and pisco. You’ll then enjoy a welcome dinner featuring Peruvian cuisine with an Amazon flair. 

Embark on a boating expedition on the Amazon River to explore local flora and fauna. After breakfast, you’ll head out to see the confluence of the Ucayali and Marañón rivers, where you’ll spot pink and gray river dolphins. Prepare yourself for a walk to Puerto Prado to see the Victoria Amazonica, the world’s largest water lily. Afterward, you’ll have dinner and enjoy live music. Later, venture out for a nighttime outing to search for caimans, tarantulas, frogs, and other nocturnal species.

Start the day with an outing on a skiff to explore different lakes and lagoons, eventually reaching the Japanese Lagoon for a picnic in one of the best-preserved areas of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, known for its pink river dolphins. Afterward, you’ll visit the Yanaquillo gorge before returning to the Zafiro for some kayaking and a dip in the black waters. You’ll then stroll through the rainforest on hanging bridges, taking in the stunning treetop views. Once back on the cruise, enjoy a demonstration on how to prepare Peruvian cocktails, followed by live music as you await the gala dinner with the captain.

You’ll start your day by visiting the community of San Regis. Here, you’ll learn about local traditions and ancestral practices from the community’s shaman, with guides to help you explore spiritual connections. You'll participate in a tree-planting ceremony as a positive contribution to the environment and visit a market where local women sell handmade crafts. After returning for lunch aboard the Zafiro, the guides will share myths and legends of the Amazon. In the afternoon, you’ll head out on a skiff to the Shiriyacu stream for some piranha fishing using local techniques. Back on the boat, enjoy the stunning sunset colors before dinner with live music.

You’ll visit Nauta, the region’s second-largest city. After arriving, you’ll take a motorcycle taxi to the local market to experience the city's vibrant business scene. Following lunch, you’ll have some time to rest before heading out on a skiff to explore Pahuachiro and its wildlife. Then, prepare for a walk in the “Comunal Florida” Reserve, where you’ll search for frogs, birds, and other exotic species. You’ll also see the famous Caoba (Mahogany) trees. Afterward, you’ll have free time to relax until dinner.

You’ll set out on a skiff to the Yanallpa area of the Ucayali River in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve to spot native wildlife. After breakfast, you’ll continue your adventure on the Tapiche River, looking for more animal species.  In the afternoon, you’ll head out to the Dorado River to fish using local techniques. As night falls, you’ll embark on a skiff excursion to search for caimans, tarantulas, and other nocturnal species before returning to the Zafiro for dinner.

After breakfast, you’ll set off to explore the Yarapa River, where you can spot the famous pink and gray river dolphins in its dark waters. Once back on the Zafiro, you’ll witness the confluence of the Ucayali and Marañón rivers, where the Amazon River begins. After lunch you’ll embark on skiffs for a scenic journey along the Amazon River, observing the daily activities of local communities along the banks. Back on board, you’ll have time to relax and enjoy live music before the crew's presentation and farewell dinner.

After breakfast, you’ll disembark and head to the airport, stopping first at the Manatee Rescue Center (Amazon Forever Organization). Here, biologists and volunteers care for rescued manatees, an endangered species, and prepare them for return to their natural habitat. After your visit, you’ll continue your transfer to the airport.
