Day 1: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Welcome to Zimbabwe!

Upon arrival at Victoria Falls Airport (VFA), you will be warmly met by a representative from Destination Africa and transferred to Batonka Guest Lodge.

After check-in and some time to refresh, prepare for your first unforgettable African experience.

In the late afternoon, depart for a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. This is one of Victoria Falls’ most celebrated experiences and offers a spectacular introduction to the destination.

As the golden African sun begins to set, enjoy your cruise along the tranquil waters. Keep an eye out for:

  • Hippos basking in the water
  • Crocodiles along the riverbanks
  • Elephants coming to drink
  • A variety of birdlife including fish eagles

Activities and Services

Day 2: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Wake up to the sounds of Africa and enjoy breakfast at the lodge.

Today you will visit one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World—the magnificent Victoria Falls.

Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya (“The Smoke That Thunders”), Victoria Falls is one of the largest and most awe-inspiring waterfalls on earth.

During your guided tour with us, learn about:

  • The geological formation of the falls
  • Historical discoveries by David Livingstone
  • Local legends and cultural significance
  • Unique flora and fauna of the rainforest ecosystem

Walk through the misty rainforest and stop at several scenic viewpoints offering breathtaking panoramas of the cascading water.

Depending on the season, you may witness:

  • Powerful spray rising dramatically into the sky
  • Massive volumes of thunderous water
  • Beautiful rainbows in the mist

The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

After an early breakfast, depart for Botswana for an exciting full-day safari to Chobe National Park.

Famous for its enormous elephant population and incredible wildlife density, Chobe offers one of Southern Africa’s best safari experiences.

Your day includes two exceptional safari experiences:

Morning Game Drive

Begin with a game drive in open safari vehicles through the park’s rich wilderness.

Expect opportunities to see:

  • Elephants
  • Lions
  • Buffalo
  • Giraffe
  • Zebra
  • Antelope species
  • Possibly leopard

Chobe is particularly renowned for its large elephant herds, often seen in spectacular numbers.

Lunch

Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local lodge or restaurant overlooking the surrounding wilderness.

Afternoon Boat Cruise

After lunch, continue with a scenic boat safari along the Chobe River.

This water-based safari provides a unique perspective and often allows close-up sightings of:

The Chobe River is famous for dramatic wildlife encounters, especially in the dry season when animals gather along the banks.

Day 4: End of Itinerary

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge and take in your final moments in Victoria Falls.

Depending on your departure flight time, there may be time for last-minute shopping or optional activities.

At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to Victoria Falls Airport (VFA) for your onward journey.
