The Coquimbo Region is a unique and truly amazing place. Surrounded by powerful giants such as Atacama, the world`s driest desert, Aconcagua, the highest mountain in America, the Pacific Ocean, the largest ocean on the planet, and the Andes, the longest mountain range on Earth ... the region is sheltered in the grandeur of its delicious stillness born from a great diversity of climates, natural attractions and cultural treasures. Qualities that, together with soils festooned with infinite minerals and diaphanous skies of great luminosity and transparency, connect its inhabitants with the sun, the sea, the mountains and the very center of our galaxy.
Here, in this bewitched region, the Spanish conquerors founded La Serena, the oldest city on the Chilean coast, and populated its great Elqui Valley.
Come and surprise yourself with the art of the pre-Hispanic cultures of Molles and Diaguitas, and the magnificent legacy of the Incas, together with the origins and evolution of the first harvests, bacanales and festivals of Chilean wine and pisco, which —together with mistralian literature, astronomical observatories and the mysticism of its inhabitants— will make you travel through time and the cosmos from Coquimbo, a region of riches and riverbank of harvested treasures.

Viña Odfjell: Viña Odfjell lies just to the south of Santiago, in the Maipo Valley. Here, over 25 years ago, ship owner Dan Odfjell discovered and fell in love with a small corner of the famous valley, and began to cultivate his vineyards. Born in rainy Bergen, Norway, he could not resist the attraction of the warm southern sun in this beautiful setting. Serendipitously, he had selected land in Chile's premium red wine producing district, and today Viña Odfjell is well known for its outstanding vintages under the Odfjell, Aliara, Orzada, and Armador labels.

Today is at your leisure to walk around Valparaiso.
Valparaíso is without doubt one of Chile's most captivating cities. It's also a popular coastal destination and regular port-of-call for cruise ships sailing along the Pacific coast. In recent times Valparaíso has witnessed a complete rebirth in popularity, especially since the city was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2003. Valparaíso has had a bit of a roller-coaster history. During the 19th century, it was ranked one of the wealthiest port towns in the world. Then the Panama Canal was built which took away most of its trade and sent the city sinking into decline. For years the city tried desperately to cling on to its glorious past, but its architectural splendour and riches severely deteriorated. Today, many of these run-down buildings have experienced complete restoration. There are gourmet restaurants and boutique hotels popping up everywhere. Valparaíso is quickly becoming the choice destination for top end dining and lodging along the coast. The city's also known for its bohemian and antiquated bars that stay open into the early hours of the morning.
One of the big attractions here is to ride the century-old, creaky funicular (elevator), that lift riders to the tops of the surrounding hills. These tumbling chaotic hills, with their steep labyrinthine roads, crumbling mansions and kaleidoscopic rooftops, will have even amateur photographers snapping on every street corner. It's not just the stunning vistas that hit you as you look down to the busy working commercial and naval harbour below; it's the unique, faded grandeur of the town, and its spontaneous, bohemian charm. If you're the type who craves character and culturally distinctive surroundings, this is your place.

Today is at your leisure, so we strongly recommend you to discover the magnificence of the Northern Quarters, Palermo and the beauty of its parks and buildings, Recoleta with its French-style architecture, its famous cemetery, bars and cafes; the imposing Colon Theater (you can join a visit inside the opera house), and the artistic treasures in one of its most important museums: Malba (Latin American Art Museum). Created by businessman Eduardo Constantini, the mission of the MALBA is to collect, preserve, research and promote Latin American art from the onset of the 20th century to the present. This involves educating the public about Latin American artists, and the diversity of cultural and artistic holdings in this region. The Fine Arts Museum is open daily from 10AM to 8pm (Except Mondays) and is free of charge.
