Day 1: Cape Town

Upon arrival at Cape Town International  Airport, our Meet & Greet service welcomes you to South Africa.

You will be transferred to the Portswood Hotel - Check In

An  afternoon   and evening at leisure enjoying the hotel facilities and  to explore the V&A Waterfront    and its   variety of attractions, shopping excursions and restaurants at the  V&A Waterfront.

Day 2: Cape Town

Enjoy  a lovely breakfast at your hotel, followed by  your Private Cape Point and Peninsula tour

Your guide will meet you at your hotel at approximately at 8am to commence tour.

Cape Point and Peninsula

Enjoy a scenic drive along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton, Camps Bay and Hout Bay, a quaint seaside village with magnificent mountain views. Continue onto Chapmans Peak Drive, one of the world's most spectacular coastal drives towards the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point. Watch the dramatic clash of the seas from the view point which can be accessed by a foot or the Flying Dutchman Funicular.  Followed by a lunch stop  with your guide en-route to Simons Town.

Boulders Beach Penguin Colony

Arrive in the historic Simons Town, a village with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and a large penguin colony at the beautiful Boulders Beach. Boulders penguin colony is home to a growing colony of the protected African penguin. Wooden walkways allow visitors to view penguins in their natural habitat. Continue on to the well-known Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

  Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens which is acclaimed as one of the great botanic gardens of the world. Few gardens can match the sheer grandeur of the setting of Kirstenbosch, against the eastern slopes of Cape Town's Table Mountain. More than just a garden, Kirstenbosch is part of a nature reserve. The 36 hectare garden is part of a 528 hectare estate that contains protected mountainside supporting natural forest and fynbos along with a variety of animals and birds. The Kirstenbosch Estate borders the Table Mountain National Park, and the Garden merges seamlessly with the natural fynbos and forest of the mountain. Return to your hotel upon completion of the tour at approximately 17h00.

Day 3: Cape Town

Enjoy  a lovely breakfast at your hotel and morning at leisure. Followed by  your Marine Wildlife Cruise & Cape Town City Tour. Guide will pick you up from your hotel.

Marine Wildlife Cruise & Cape Town City Tour (Depart 11h00 & Return 17h30)

Make the most of your trip to Cape Town and explore both the land and sea. With your expert guide, enjoy a cruise along the water to catch a glimpse of the native marine life that lives there, then take an afternoon stroll around the city.

Day 4: Cape Town

Bo-Kaap

After collection from your Cape Town based hotel, continue to the colourful community of the Bo-Kaap. Formerly known as the Malay Quarter, this picturesque corner of Cape Town well-known for its vast collection of colourful houses and cobble stone streets, became home to the Cape Muslim community and many freed slaves after the abolition of slavery in 1834. Take a walk to explore rich cultural history and unique culture, lifestyle and personality of the area before making your way to the infamous District Six.

District Six

Arrive in the area of Zonnebloem, historically known as District Six, and visit the living Museum (closed on Sundays). Established in 1994, it depicts memories of the community of District Six and the suffering they entailed during the Forced Removals Act implemented by the Apartheid Government. With the struggle for land now taking a different form, the museum supports the process of reinventing District Six for the present. Depart the City area and head towards the Cape Flats.

Langa Township

Stop at the Gugu SThebe Arts and Cultural Centre situated in Langa Township. Housed in a brightly coloured building, the centre is dedicated to the empowerment of the people of Langa and aims to improve their socio-economic situation. Their focus is on alleviating unemployment by providing support services to entrepreneurs as well as the improvement of life in the township through Arts and Culture. Explore the local arts and crafts on display in the various studios, metal and pottery workshops. Embark on a walking tour with a local registered guide providing the opportunity to be exposed to the community and lifestyle of Langa. Continue on to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront for your trip to Robben Island.

Robben Island

Take a ferry across the bay  to the infamous maximum-security prison that once housed various political prisoners including the late Nelson Mandela. Enjoy a guided coach tour of the Island and its facilities as you delve into the history of the island and the lifestyle of the prisoners who once called it home. The ferry will return you to the Waterfront where you will be collected for your transfer back to your hotel in the early evening.

Day 5: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Morning breakfast at Hotel - Check Out

Transfer to Cape Town International Airport for flight to Victoria Falls International Airport (*Flight not included)

On arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport, you will be welcomed into Zimbabwe and transferred to  Batonka Guest Lodge - Check In

Lunch at Lodge and afternoon at leisure before Sunset Cruise.

Sunset Cruise (Depart 16h30 - Return 19h00)

Get a close-up with nature as you cruise the tranquil scenery of the unspoilt river upstream. With frequent sightings of gigantic crocodiles, pods of hippo and herds of elephants bathing in the river, these cruises are a luxury safari on water.

At the end of the day, sail upstream to celebrate the setting African sun. Share in the end-of-day ritual of the wild herds, streaming to the banks of the river for their last drink. Flocks of birds skim the waterline as the sun sets on the African horizon. The perfect opportunity to watch the sunset on the mighty Zambezi River.

Day 6: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Breakfast at lodge and morning at leisure, followed Tour of the Falls

Tour of the Falls (Depart 10h15 - Return 12h15)

If there is any magic in this world, perhaps it is contained in water. There is a little bit of heaven reflected on earth in the curtain of water that cascades down into the heart of the world that is The Victoria Falls. The Victoria Falls possess a beauty that is impossible to replicate through any man-made efforts, a natural wonder created by Mother Nature as a reminder of her power and complexity. A trip to Southern Africa would not be complete without laying eyes on this incredible spectacle .

A guided tour of the falls enables you to delve into the local customs and traditions while gaining insight into how such an exquisite creation came to be. During the dry season the Victoria Falls is best viewed from the Zimbabwean side. The Zimbabwe adventure ends at a craft market at the entrance of the rainforest, where guests can appreciate the talent of local craftsmen and purchase memorabilia of this special experience.

Village Tour (Tour approximately 90 minutes)

Victoria Falls is not only remarkable thanks to its unrivalled natural beauty, but also because it is alive with rich culture and tradition. Twenty minutes out of the Victoria Falls town sits the Mpisi village, home to the Matabele people. The rural village welcomes tourists at the discretion of the Headman. 

The village tour is an enlightening and enriching experience that enables visitors to immerse themselves in the rural lifestyle by meeting local village residents, learning about daily routines, and perhaps even assisting with day-to-day chores. The tour is an opportunity to engage with local people first hand, to gain a deeper appreciation of our beautifully diverse world.

Day 7: Makalali Private Game Reserve

Breakfast at Lodge - Check Out

Transfer to Victoria Falls International Airport for flight to  East Gate Airport (*Flight not included)

On arrival at East Gate Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to Makalali Lodge   - Check In

Afternoon at leisure before late afternoon/ early evening game drive.

Makalali Private Game Reserve is located west of the Kruger National Park to offer guests an ethnic-style retreat within 26 000 hectares of bushveld in the North-eastern Lowveld. You can look forward to spotting the Big 5 (buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, rhino), as well as the cheetah, wild dog, giraffe, zebra and kudu.

Late afternoon /  Evening Safari Game Drive

Highly trained and experienced rangers and trackers ensure that your safari experience ranks amongst the best in Africa. Day 8: Makalali Private Game Reserve

Enjoy an early cup of tea or coffee as your guide and tracker brief you on  the morning  game drive that lies ahead. Head out into the bush in anticipation of sighting all manner of Africa's wildlife.

The Big 5 are on everyone's check list and you have a great chance of seeing them. But the smaller creatures, insects,  trees and grasses  are equally as impressive and provide wonderful photo opportunities too. 

Your guide will stop in the bush for a coffee break - usually in a scenic location.  Guests will enjoy a variety of snacks, teas, coffees and other refreshments.  

A mid-morning breakfast will be enjoyed back at the lodge.

Late afternoon/ Evening Safari Game Drive

Depart on the late afternoon game drive. You are sure to have some special sightings as the sun starts to set and the temperatures start to cool off. Your guide will again stop in a beautiful location so you are able to enjoy your favourite sundowner beverage. Just before night falls, you will continue with the game drive as your guide and tracker use spot lights to find the creatures that are active at night.

Return to the lodge for a sumptuous dinner.

Day 9: Makalali Private Game Reserve

Makalali Main Lodge

Day 10: Johannesburg

Following breakfast you will transfer to East Gate Airport.

Check in for your flight to OR Tambo International Airport (* Flighst not included)

On arrival in Johannesburg your tour guide will meet you at the airport and commence your Soweto Tour 

Private  Soweto Tour

This tour takes you through the streets of So-we-to (South Western Townships) and its adjoining suburbs. Experience the history of the "apartheid" years. Visit the original home of Mr. Nelson Mandela (which is now the Mandela Family Museum),  as well as a shebeen (local tavern) and the Regina Mundi Catholic Church - the largest Catholic Cathedral in the Southern Hemisphere (1 600 square meters).
