Day 1: Napo Province

Your journey begins with a warm welcome and a refreshing native drink that carries the flavors of the Amazon. After a brief introduction to Kuyana’s regenerative philosophy, the pace of daily life begins to slow — replaced by the sounds of the forest and the calm of being surrounded by nature.

Begin exploring with a guided walk along the Guitarracocha Trail, a path woven with ancestral stories. Local legend tells of guitar-like sounds drifting from its lagoon on quiet nights. The trail leads to Kuyana Island, where you’ll walk beneath towering trees and reach a viewpoint overlooking the Hollín River, one of the main tributaries of the Napo River. Its energy, color, and constant movement reflect the force of the Amazon itself.

(Difficulty: 2.5/5 – approx. 1.5 hours)

As the day comes to an end, enjoy a thoughtfully prepared farm-to-table dinner made with ingredients from Kuyana’s gardens and nearby communities — fresh, simple, and full of purpose.

Day 2: Napo Province

Wake early to a symphony of bird calls as soft light filters through the forest canopy. Join your guide for a birdwatching walk, where species such as kingfishers and caciques reveal the vibrant rhythm of the rainforest.

(Difficulty: 2/5 – approx. 1 hour)

After breakfast, set out on a guided hike to the Ushpayacu Waterfalls, one of Kuyana’s most cherished experiences. The trail invites you to move at nature’s pace — listening to flowing springs, feeling the humidity of the forest, and reaching a cascade where you can bathe beneath its fresh waters. A short section of light climbing adds a gentle touch of adventure.

(Difficulty: 3/5 – approx. 3 hours)

Back at the lodge, enjoy lunch before taking part in a traditional Amazon cooking class. Learn to prepare local dishes such as maito and chontacuro, followed by a hands-on chocolate-making experience using native cacao — a direct connection to Amazonian flavors and culture.

Dinner is served as the forest darkens, accompanied by the natural sounds of the night — a quiet reminder that you are immersed in a living ecosystem.

Return to Kuyana for lunch and time to rest or reflect — by the pool, on your terrace, or near the riverbank where silence speaks louder than words.
