Day 2: Arequipa

.Lima City tour: Colonial Lima (Main Square, Government Palace, City Hall, Cathedral of Lima and San Francisco Convent) and Modern Lima (San Isidro y Miraflores)

At the scheduled time, you will be picked up at the hotel to begin a tour of the city's main avenues, boulevards, and squares. The tour will begin with an exploration of Colonial Lima. First, you will stop off at the Main Square, where you will get a chance to explore the square on foot and admire the exteriors of the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, and the City Hall all examples of Lima's still-present colonial architectural opulence.

You will visit the Cathedral of Lima; as you walk through the Cathedral’s numerous chapels, you'll travel to the past and discover various architectural styles (from Renaissance to Neo-Classical), and learn about the religious history of Peru. Our tour continues with the visit to San Francisco Convent built in the 17th century, and its “Catacombs” ancient underground cemetery of Lima.

Finally, you will leave behind Lima's Historic Center and begin a journey through the streets of modern Lima as head toward the most traditional of the residential zones of the capital: San Isidro and Miraflores. In San Isidro, you will pass through the heart of the city's financial district; soon afterwards, you will travel to the district of Miraflores, a perfect spot to enjoy wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean.

Day 3: Arequipa

09:00hrs. Visit the Colonial District of Yanahuara, famous for its churches built in an Andalucian style and its Viewpoint. The Viewpoint of Carmen Alto with its beautiful landscape. Then proceed to Visit the Neighborhood of San Lázaro where Arequipa was founded, the Church of San Francisco with its beautiful plaza that dates back to the XVIII century, then continue to the Main Square, which has a beautiful architecture, surrounded by sillar arcs, the façade of the Cathedral, the Church of La Compañía de Jesús, founded in the XVII century by the Jesuits, renowned by its Cloisters. Then Santa Catalina Monastery will be visited, which is the most important and impressive religious monument in Perú, founded in 1579. (private service)

Day 4: Colca Canyon

Going through the town of Yura, Pampa de Arrieros, Pampa Cañahuas, where the Vicunas National Reserve is located, Vizcachani, Tojra with is cushion bogs, where you will find a wide variety of migratory birds all year. The trip continues through Chuccura and Patapampa, visiting the Viewpoint of Volcanoes. At 13:30 approximately, you will arrive to Chivay. Take a break for lunch and a little rest. Visit the market of Chivay and the Hot Springs of La Calera (no admission ticket included). (private service)

Day 5: Puno

COLCA – PUNO

06:00hrs. approximately to visit Cruz del Cóndor, where the depths of the canyon can be seen, which is considered to be deeper than the Colorado Canyon. In addition, you can appreciate the majestic flight of the condors in their natural habitat. As you return, visit the towns of Macca and Yanque and its churches of colonial times. You will also visit the viewpoints of Wayra Punku, Antahuilque and Choquetico. You will arrive to Chivay between 10:30 and 11:00 am. Immediate departure to Puno. The route has a length of 320 km approximately. On the road you will appreciate a beautiful highland landscape with animals and plants of the region. In addition, you can also see some rocky formations that resemble a stone forest. You will go through the towns of Pillones, Imata, Crucero Alto (highest point at 4538 m.a.s.l.).

11:00hrs. You continue to the beautiful zone of Lagunillas and its impressive natural lake, the town of Santa Lucía, Cabanillas, Juliaca, until you arrive to the city of Puno. This trip takes 6 hours approximately. (private service)

Day 6: Puno

•Boat excursion to Uros & Taquile Islands

Enjoy an extraordinary journey across the world's highest navigable lake, Lake Titicaca. Travel to legendary places where time seems to have stood still. The first stop will be t Uros floating islands. These are a peculiar grouping of around 40 small islands made totally of totora, a natural reed that grows around the lake. The cheerful inhabitants will invite you to get to know their traditional lifestyle and customs.

We will continue our voyage across the placid waters of the lake until arriving to the picturesque Taquile Island, a peaceful place where old Quechua traditions live in perfect balance with modernity. Discover a landscape distinct from the other islands thanks to the Incan terraces filled with local flowers and crops. The rich colors of the clothing worn by the local inhabitants will amaze you; admire their beautiful hand-made fabrics. Most importantly, enjoy the unbelievable hospitality of the islanders, known as Taquileños, who will make your visit to the island a memorable one.

Before making your way back to Puno, you will have lunch at a local home.

Day 7: Cusco

08:00hrs. Departure from Puno to Cusco, en route there are three stops along the way to visit historic monuments. The first stop is at the archaeological site of Pukara, which dates from 200BC to 300AD, where you can admire the collection of pre-Inca sculptures and objects at the Lithic Museum. Raqchi to admire the ruins of an Inca temple built to worship Wiracocha, one of the most important Inca gods. The final stop is at Andahuaylillas, a picturesque town famed for the beautiful 16th century Church of St. Peter the Apostle. It boasts a gilded baroque interior and frescoes so delicate that it is known as the Sistine Chapel of America. Continue to Cusco

Day 8: Huayllabamba

CUSCO / VALLE SAGRADO

This morning, we will continue the trip toward the Sacred Valley; at 17,40 miles (28 km) away from Cusco, we will find Chinchero village, with an altitude 12,375 feet above sea level (3,772 meters), famous for the extraordinary beauty and quality of its textiles, and for its Sunday fair, where local people dress in traditional colorful outfits and travel down from their villages to trade their goods.

We will cross the Urubamba River and head towards the Salt Pans of Maras. The sight of this still-operating salt mine, in use since Incan times, will amaze us the stark white of the steeply descending salt pans juxtaposed against the green of the surrounding mountain slopes.

The journey will continue on until we reach the archeological site of Moray. Used as an agricultural testing ground, the site's system of circular terraces descends 490 feet (150 m) from where we will stand, serving as a perfect testament to the level of advancement achieved by the Incas, who excelled at building masterful constructions in harmony with nature.

Finally, we will visit one of the last remaining Incan towns, Ollantaytambo, which was once fiercely guarded by a massive fortress. We will discover the large archeological complex of what used to serve as a wayside inn for royal delegations on long journeys. Surviving structures here include multiple walls and towers that were used to protect the citadel from possible invasions.
