Day 1

Mon. 7 Jun 2027

Chobe River Front

Day notes

On arrival at Kasane Airport, you will be met and transferred by shared road transfer to Muchenje Safari Lodge.

Set away from the busier sections of Chobe, Muchenje offers a lovely elevated position with sweeping views across the floodplains. This is a wonderful place to ease into the safari rhythm, with the landscape opening out beautifully in front of you.

Depending on arrival time, you may be able to enjoy lunch, settle into your rooms, and later head out for your first safari activity. Chobe is famous for its elephants, and this first afternoon may bring your first sightings of the big herds, along with buffalo, antelope, giraffe, and wonderful birdlife.

Return to the lodge in the evening for drinks, dinner, and your first night in Botswana.

Day 2

Tue. 8 Jun 2027

Chobe River Front

Day notes

Wake to your first full day on safari.

The Chobe region is one of Botswana’s most iconic wildlife areas, particularly well known for its high concentration of elephants. The rhythm of the day will usually follow the classic safari pattern: an early morning activity when the bush is cool and active, time back at the lodge during the warmer middle part of the day, and another activity later in the afternoon.

Activities may include game drives and other lodge-based experiences depending on the day’s conditions and lodge arrangements. The area offers excellent opportunities to see elephant, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, plains game, and a wide variety of birds. Predator sightings are also possible, especially lion and leopard, although as always, the wild keeps its own schedule.

This is a day to slow down, breathe, and allow the bush to unfold naturally.

Day 3

Wed. 9 Jun 2027

Chobe River Front

Day notes

Your final full day at Muchenje gives you more time to enjoy the Chobe region without rushing.

Each safari day is different. One morning may be all about elephants moving across the plains, another may bring giraffe silhouetted against the light, a quiet lion sighting, or a beautiful stretch of river alive with birds and hippos. Chobe is especially rewarding because of the variety of wildlife and the dramatic relationship between animals and water.

Between activities, enjoy time at the lodge, taking in the views, relaxing, and soaking up the atmosphere before the journey continues deeper into Botswana’s wilderness.

This evening, enjoy your final dinner at Muchenje.

Day 4

Thu. 10 Jun 2027

Kwando Private Reserve

Day notes

After breakfast, you will transfer from Muchenje Safari Lodge back to Kasane Airport.

From Kasane, you will board a light aircraft flight to Kwando Airstrip, taking you into one of Botswana’s most exciting and remote safari regions. The flight itself is part of the adventure, offering a wonderful aerial perspective over Botswana’s changing landscapes.

On arrival at Kwando Airstrip, you will be met and transferred to Lagoon Camp.

Lagoon Camp sits in the Linyanti region, an area known for excellent game viewing, wild landscapes, and strong predator potential. This is a place that feels more remote and more untamed, with a beautiful mix of open areas, woodland, and waterways.

After settling in, enjoy your first safari activity in the Linyanti area before returning to camp for dinner.

Day 5

Fri. 11 Jun 2027

Kwando Private Reserve

Day notes

Today is your first full day at Lagoon Camp.

The Linyanti/Kwando area is loved for its sense of wilderness and its superb wildlife possibilities. Depending on the season and conditions, the area can be excellent for elephant, buffalo, antelope, wild dog, lion, leopard, hyena, and beautiful birdlife.

Morning and afternoon activities allow you to explore different parts of the concession and follow what the bush is offering on the day. One of the great joys of this part of Botswana is that it feels less predictable and more adventurous. You are not simply ticking off sightings; you are reading tracks, following movement, and letting the landscape tell its story.

Return to camp in the evening for drinks, dinner, and time around the fire.

Day 6

Sat. 12 Jun 2027

Kwando Private Reserve

Day notes

Another full day in the Linyanti gives you the chance to go deeper into the safari experience.

The region is particularly exciting because of the variety of habitats and the potential for dramatic wildlife encounters. Large herbivores often move through the area, and predators follow these movements. The result is a safari region that can feel alive, raw, and wonderfully immersive.

Your guides will shape the activities around wildlife movements, weather, and recent sightings. Some drives may focus on predator tracks; others may follow elephant paths, explore floodplain edges, or spend quiet time with general game.

Between activities, enjoy the comfort of camp and the pleasure of simply being in one of Botswana’s great wilderness areas.

Day 7

Sun. 13 Jun 2027

Kwando Private Reserve

Day notes

Your final full day at Lagoon Camp allows one more opportunity to enjoy the Linyanti’s wild character.

By now, you will have settled into the rhythm of the camp: early mornings, beautiful light, good guiding, unhurried meals, afternoon siestas, and golden-hour game drives. This is often when a safari becomes most rewarding, as you begin to understand the landscape and the movements of the animals around you.

Whether the day brings elephants, big cats, wild dogs, or simply the quiet beauty of the bush, Lagoon is a place where the experience feels properly wild.

Enjoy your final evening in the Linyanti before the journey continues south-west into the Okavango Delta.

Day 8

Mon. 14 Jun 2027

Okavango Delta

Day notes

After breakfast, you will transfer to Kwando Airstrip for your light aircraft flight to 4 Rivers Airstrip.

This flight takes you into another completely different side of Botswana: the Okavango Delta. From the air, the Delta is spectacular, with winding channels, islands, floodplains, and shifting patterns of water and land.

On arrival at 4 Rivers Airstrip, you will be met and transferred to 4 Rivers.

This camp offers a beautiful Delta setting and a strong sense of place. The Okavango is one of Africa’s most magical safari landscapes, where water shapes everything — the movement of wildlife, the light, the vegetation, and the entire rhythm of the safari.

After settling in, enjoy your first Delta activity before dinner in camp.

Day 9

Tue. 15 Jun 2027

Okavango Delta

Day notes

Wake up in the Okavango Delta, one of Africa’s most extraordinary wilderness areas.

Today’s activities will be guided by the season, water levels, and local wildlife movements. The Delta is a place of incredible contrast: open plains, palm-dotted islands, channels, floodplains, and woodland all come together to create one of the richest safari environments in Africa.

Wildlife possibilities may include elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, antelope, lion, leopard, hyena, and an exceptional variety of birds. The Delta is also a wonderful place for quieter moments — reflections on the water, soft morning light, and the feeling of being far removed from the ordinary world.

Return to camp for meals, relaxation, and your second night at 4 Rivers.

Day 10

Wed. 16 Jun 2027

Okavango Delta

Day notes

Your second full day at 4 Rivers gives you more time to enjoy the unique rhythm of the Okavango.

This is the part of the safari where the landscape changes mood throughout the day. Early mornings can be crisp and atmospheric, with wildlife moving through the cool light. Afternoons are slower and more relaxed, before the bush comes alive again towards sunset.

Activities may include game drives and seasonal water-based experiences, depending on conditions at the time of travel. The beauty of the Delta is in its variety — one outing may focus on predators and big game, while another may be about birds, water channels, floodplains, or the simple joy of moving through a pristine wilderness.

This is a day to savour the Delta slowly.

Day 11

Thu. 17 Jun 2027

Okavango Delta

Day notes

Your final full day on safari is spent in the Okavango Delta.

By this stage, the journey will have moved through three very different Botswana landscapes: the Chobe region, the wild Linyanti, and now the waterways and floodplains of the Delta. This final day is a chance to enjoy the full depth of the experience without needing to move camp.

Head out early with your guide and enjoy whatever the Delta has in store. Perhaps it will be a memorable predator sighting, a herd of elephants crossing open ground, a peaceful waterway, or simply one of those golden safari moments that stays with you long after the trip has ended.

Return to camp for your final dinner in the bush, with time to reflect on a truly special Botswana journey.

Day 12

Fri. 18 Jun 2027

End of Itinerary

Day notes

After breakfast, you will transfer to 4 Rivers Airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Maun Airport.

On arrival in Maun, you will connect with your onward arrangements.

This marks the end of your Botswana safari, having travelled from the Chobe region to the Linyanti and finally into the Okavango Delta — a wonderful combination of wildlife, wilderness, water, and classic safari atmosphere.
